Incorporeal Movement. The poe can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.

Otherworldly Perception. The poe can sense the presence of any creature within 30 feet of it that is invisible or on the Ethereal Plane. The poe can pinpoint such a creature if it is moving.

Sunlight Weakness. While in sunlight, the poe has disadvantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws. The poe's immunity to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage is negated while it is in direct sunlight, or has suffered radiant damage since the start of its last turn.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The poe makes two lantern attacks.

Ghastly Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 1) necrotic damage.

Lantern. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 1) bludgeoning damage plus 1 fire damage.

Possess (Recharge 5-6). The poe attempts to possess a beast or humanoid creature within 5 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 12 Charisma saving throw. On a failure, the poe begins to occupy the same space as the target creature, is immune to all damage except force damage, and has complete control of the target's body, choosing what it does on its turn. This effect has a duration of 1 minute, but will end prematurely if the target falls unconscious or dies. While possessing another creature, a poe is effectively incapacitated and can't otherwise move. Using the target's body, the poe can perform basic actions as well as all actions it has seen the target perform. The target repeats this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect and forcing the poe into the air above it on a success. If the target would be forced to do something that would end its life, it can repeat the saving throw at that moment with advantage to prevent the action that would kill it.

A special type of poe, a possessing poe is visibly different from others of its kind by having all four limbs, a semitransparent body of a solid hue, and a face resembling a specific variety of mask. It is remarkable for its immunity to conventional attacks, and its unique ability to possess certain living creatures. It seems to do so simply by moving towards them and vanishing into thin air, though this belies the intense struggle of personalities warring in the mind of the potential victim. Even when its possession is successful, the poe usually cannot pull off a convincing control; the individual is visibly struggling against it more often than not, and the poe cannot force its mannerisms to seem like those of a normal living creature. Eyes often roll, necks twist, and limbs twitch in a surreal display.

Undead Nature. A poe doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.
