About the D20.00

I do not mind if you split up the entire article, this is your work, do not feel constrained by this site.

--Green Dragon 11:30, 17 April 2006 (MST)

D&D Nation Builder?

I'm thinking of creating a system for which to create and quantify governments and nations using a D&D system. I hope for a group effort with this on making a possibly Complex system (Which shouldn't be clunky). I will think about this, however; in the mean time, I'd perhaps like some ideas on what to add to it... --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:09, 20 April 2006 (MST)

About the Random Nation Generation Rules (DnD Variant rules)

Okay. I think this could be merged with the Endhaven that Dmilewski is working on, and does not need to be its own thing. I will talk to Dmilewski and see if he can merge it in to the Endhaven. Thanks for the idea however.

--Green Dragon 13:56, 14 May 2006 (MDT)

alright, then.

RERE:

alright, then.--Pz.Az.04Maus 22:52, 14 May 2006 (MDT)

Merging

The Random Nation Generator was easy to add to Wikiworld. I created a category called Tools under Inner Planes (Wikiworld) and place it there.

I'm going to steal you color choice for your user-page

Hey, I am going to steal your color choice for your talk page, the colors look good... --Green Dragon 12:45, 4 June 2006 (MDT)

No troubles... I don't mind that at all :3 --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:43, 4 June 2006 (MDT)
If you want, use this site here to change your colors...--Pz.Az.04Maus 13:43, 4 June 2006 (MDT)
I like the colors you choose, so I think I will keep them. Thanks. --Green Dragon 14:12, 4 June 2006 (MDT)

Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment on my user page! --Blue Dragon 21:49, 4 June 2006 (MDT)

About Being an Admin

Hello. Actually, I have not thought of any "Requirements" for begin an Admin (officially we are called sysops), other than me knowing you and trusting your edits, and I can do both these things. For a while now I have thought of asking you to be an admin, but never got around to it, or could not think of a good way to ask. So, I will give you sysop privileges, as long as you do one thing (hehe... thanks for the idea about requirements), which would be to create a "How to" in the help section that describes the proper method of sending messages and posting responses on user's talk pages. Unluckily, I am not positive on the correct format, so Wikipedia might help :). (If you do not really want to do it, that is fine, you will still be an admin [but let me know that you are not going to do it]). If you have any questions feel free to tell me. Thanks, --Green Dragon 13:00, 5 June 2006 (MDT)

About the server

Hey Pz.Az.04Maus. I noticed that you recently said "Here's the new category: Category:Help I've already transferred some of the stuff and edited what we need for the articles... Sorry if this is doing anything adverse to the server." I just wanted to let you know what was happening to the server today, and that it was not your fault at all. I created a little script to change around stuff in the SRD, and the script ran from a trusted subnet (255.255.255.0) and IP, and so it allowed it to connect as many times as it wanted. I unfortunately forgot, however, to set up the code so it does not connect thousands of times nearly instantly. I walked away from the computer with the program running, and after a while it DoSed the server. I am sorry for the inconvenience, and I fixed the code. --Blue Dragon 22:41, 5 June 2006 (MDT)

Yes! A graphic artist!

Yes!! I have been wondering if I should start asking people to make a logo for D&D Wiki, seeing that the current one does not qualify as a logo. I am a terrible graphics artist, and Blue Dragon is even worse. It would be awesome if you could crop this and make it 135x135 pixels, make the actual D&D Wiki bigger, and make sure that you are not stepping over copyright lines by using this picture. I cannot wait to have a real logo for D&D Wiki! --Green Dragon 00:57, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

Er.... Sure? Was hoping to put this on the front page, but main logo works as well... :3 --Pz.Az.04Maus 01:04, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
That would be fine, but how exactly would you make it work on the front page? Also..... You should have answered on my user talk page, but oh well. --Green Dragon 09:53, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

About getting visitors

Well... Do you have any other ideas, seeing the people at Wikipedia deleted the article? We could try writing an article at Wikipedia, not just a link... do you think that would work? We really should try to get more visitors. Ideas? --Green Dragon 14:11, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

Cleaning up your user page...

Sure, I would be happy to do that, although I will probably not be able to get around to it today (I am coding a bot to change around the SRD again, and I am making a program to add new items with a clean, although non-wiki, interface). Thanks for the image, although it is "Sysops" not "Syops" (change it and reupload it please :)) --Blue Dragon 14:24, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

I don't mind if you even don't do it at all, but heh. thx. Alright, editing now. :P Stupid mistakes. --Pz.Az.04Maus 14:25, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

About the image

Thanks a lot for the image, except (as Blue Dragon pointed out, it is "Sysops" or "Sys ops" not "Sy ops", but oh well. I will put it on my user page as soon as it is fixed. Good job, though. Thanks, --Green Dragon 14:35, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

About the Side Image

Hm... not quite done. I think it needs to be moved up (centered) and then it might work. Looking good though. --Green Dragon 15:13, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. It would be awesome if you could make it so everything is moved up, and there is an equal amount of "empty" space on the top and the bottom (space without text). Besides that, it is great! --Green Dragon 15:22, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
Another thing, make sure you delete all the images that are not being used. --Green Dragon 15:39, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
Awesome, I look forward to when it is done. --Green Dragon 16:09, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
Just make it the best you can.... can I see how it looks? --Green Dragon 16:18, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
The one you are making right now... could I see that soon? --Green Dragon 16:21, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
Hrms... I could give a beta, looks kinda crap (Has a red bar underneath), I might have to re-crop and copy again, redoing all the things I did. --Pz.Az.04Maus 16:23, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

Image of current logo?

If you want the image of the current logo for Dandwiki, it may be found here: /wiki/images/logo.png. The new logo is looking great, and I cannot wait until we will be able to use it (the current one is really boring and poorly done). --Blue Dragon 16:18, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

You mentioned something about chat...

Hey Pz.Az.04Maus, you recently mentioned something about chatting about D&D wiki, and so, thinking about that, I set up a IRC server (ircd-ircu), and a web based chat client (CGI:IRC) on chat.dandwiki.com. Log in sometime, and let me know if it works. I could work on a more D&D Based theme for it, but right now I want to make sure that it works. (P.S., it currently only accepts nick names that are nine characters long, so log in with something similar to yours. I will try to get that fixed soon.) --Blue Dragon 12:21, 7 June 2006 (MDT)

About User:Peerless a.k.a. EnterWiki administrator

Hey Pz.Az.04Maus, awhile back Peerless contacted me on this site and asked if I wanted to merge with him. At first I thought that it was a really good idea, seeing that we did not have that many users. So we all got it together, and User:Blue Dragon gave him a copy of our database. I then thought about it some more, looked at his half-built buggy interface that we would be using, and decided for good that I did not want to merge. We told him we would not be going through with it, but he kept a copy of our site on his server. The stolen site can be found here. It is relatively annoying because all of our edits he is taking claim of and using, and they are all labeled under the EnterWiki logo, without any reference to dandwiki.com. This might seem really confusing, but I hope that you understand what happened. Any questions, tell me. --Green Dragon 14:26, 9 June 2006 (MDT)

I would chat with him, see what he has to say. --Green Dragon 14:33, 9 June 2006 (MDT)

About "User:Talk" Pages

Once again, please see how Wikipedia does it, and that is how we will do it. --Green Dragon 19:07, 10 June 2006 (MDT)

I will be going away soon

I will be leaving on a vacation (LONG VACATION, about 1 and and a half months) Tuesday for Germany, and I was wondering if you could watch over the site while I was gone. Their will be many things you will have to do, and it will take a while. I will be able to check this site a couple times while I am in Germany, but not that often. So, here is what you, if you agree, will have to

  1. Check Recent Changes, check every edit that is not by you or Dmilewski.
  2. DO NOT IMPLEMEMT ANY NEW POLICIES/MAJOR CHANGES
  3. Check for malicious edits, if you find one, ROLLBACK THAT EDIT.
  4. Make sure that any new pages created have the "Back to" footer.
  5. If the site goes down (Power outage where Blue Dragon and I keep the server) please email hgabert@xmission.com and tell them to reboot the server or check the server.

I will post more things here soon, that is as soon as I can think of the rest, but could you do this? --Green Dragon 11:42, 11 June 2006 (MDT)

I'm not too sure about this... But I might. I dunno. --Pz.Az.04Maus 16:34, 11 June 2006 (MDT)
Well... Best of luck with keeping the site up, I will be going in the morning. Please remember to make sure things are Wikified correctly... PLEASE. Also, all the races you add should be added to 3.5e Races and have the "Back to" footer on them. Hope all goes well, and email hgabert@xmisison.com if the site goes down. Farewell. --Green Dragon 23:06, 12 June 2006 (MDT)
Hope things are going well, please remember to keep checking everything that goes on. Hope the site is going well. By the way I noticed the new image, wish Blue Dragon asked me if it was okay to put it on, but oh well. PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP CHECKING THINGS, and I will log back in soon and check up on the site more. Oh, German keyboards are terrible for a wiki, all the important wiki keys (linking, etc) are in strange places. Good luck, and keep up the work, hope its not to much. Also, you know what to do if the site stops working (server shutsdown), email hgabert=AT=xmission.com. Thanks --Green Dragon 12:19, 21 June 2006 (MDT)
I was thinking about bringing my laptop, but where is the internet? Anyway, thanks for keeping up with the site. --Green Dragon 12:25, 21 June 2006 (MDT)
So, I'll be able to log in more where I am at now (Chemnitz), and I hope the site is going well. Thaks for doing so much, and I hope you can still do it all (as I will not have THAT much time). Anyway... Could you give me a run-down of how the site is going (whats new, how many malicious edits, etc)? --Green Dragon 03:24, 24 June 2006 (MDT)
I could give you a summary in about an hour to a day away. :3 --Pz.Az.04Maus 20:31, 24 June 2006 (MDT)
Cool, I look forward to seeing it. --Green Dragon 06:02, 28 June 2006 (MDT)
I will not be able to check the site for 2 weeks from now, so please remmember to keep up with what is going on, and best of luck. Thanks so much for doing this, and after these 2 weeks I will be able to resume control of the site (back home). Thanks, and remember to make sure things are wikified correctly. --Green Dragon 13:23, 11 July 2006 (MDT)

Cleaning up your user page

Hey, I (finally) got around to "cleaning" up your user page, and realized that I have no idea what you want me to do. I would be more than happy to clean up or modify your user page, but let me know what you want it to look like? Should I do it like mine? Thanks, --Blue Dragon 23:16, 11 June 2006 (MDT)

With the Races

Argh, I am getting annoyed with some things you are doing. Please remember to make the "Back to" footer on everything you make, that is just something that REALLY annoys me if it is not their. Also, if you add races when I am gone please remember to add them to 3.5e Races, I have not seen you add one yet and it is annoying me as well. Sorry if I sound rude, I am just in a bad mood. --Green Dragon 13:31, 12 June 2006 (MDT)

Not that big of a deal. --Green Dragon 13:35, 12 June 2006 (MDT)
Also, could you get on chat.dandwiki.com ? --Green Dragon 13:35, 12 June 2006 (MDT)

Hey Pz.Az.04Maus, this is an excellent logo! I cannot think of anything that would be better, or anything that could improve it at all. It is wonderful, and makes D&D Wiki look a ton better! Now all that we have to think about are [possibly] new colors for the site, something more related to D&D. I will have to wait to talk to Peter on the phone about that, seeing that he is currently in Germany. I really like this, thank you a ton. I am glad that you are volunteering to monitor D&D Wiki when I am gone, if you want the password to the auto-patroller that I made I can give it to you (so you can patrol all of, say, Dmilewski's edits or your own edits so that when you are monitoring recent changes you can press "Hide Patrolled Edits" and you will only see possibly malicious ones). Log into chat sometime when I am on (not too much longer, unfortunately; I have to leave to soon), and I will be more than happy to give it to you. Again, thank you for the logo, --Blue Dragon 20:12, 13 June 2006 (MDT)

User page

Hey PzAz, I kindof fooled around with your user page a bit, if you want anything changed just let me know and I will be more than happy to change it. If you do not like it, I will not be at all offended, and just change it back to your last edit. P.S., you made a small edit before I changed it, you might want to re-do that edit :P. --Blue Dragon 12:05, 14 June 2006 (MDT)

Analytics

Hmm. I would table this until Greendragon gets back. If you really must follow this thread, pitch the idea to Bluedragon. Since we run our own servers, we may already be keeping our own logs, so I am not sure that we would get any payoff from this service. --Dmilewski 12:17, 21 June 2006 (MDT)

Beta Version of Summary.

  • DMDWILSKY did a bunch of edits to the SRD, as he usually does.
  • A new user cropped up, Onerios.
    • He then proceeded to do several things, of which included ordering the D&D Races by LA (Which I find a bit disapproving, but works to an end).
    • He also is starting to add Comments onto a lot of things, perhaps starting up a bit of a race-editing wave around here *Jumps for joy*
  • Another User, Sledged, has also joined, and is helping me with the WFRC 2e, among other things.
    • Myself also helped a bit after the start of this article, creating another category, LA Variable Races.
  • Some more of the 2e Forum Races Compendium was done
  • Myself was just recently chewed out by GoldDragon for the Logo (Meh)
    • Myself also has slowed down in his contributions to the site, though probably because myself is in a D&D Campaign on ORPG.
  • RANDOM FACT!: ORPG Has experienced a few updates in version 1.7.0, along with Blue Dragon receiving the copy. A few linux edits were made by GM Gilcrease.
  • And a bunch of other things went down in China town...
  • RANDOM FACT 2!: Llamas have invaded Moscow! Their Demands include getting 1 million Copies of Sim City 6000 and Computers to run them!
  • Possible new skins for Website recently made (From various D&D Pdf's.).
  • 1 more vandal popped up, defacing the main page talk with a sedative advert. Not big but still, I hate his guts.
    • Note: Well, it seems he screwed up the small task that he did for himself, making a new page for nothing... -.-. He still gets 2 weeks.

--Pz.Az.04Maus 04:05, 29 June 2006 (MDT)

Good, so I am on top of everything... good. Thanks for doing this, and if you update it, could you please tell me? Thanks. --Green Dragon 06:13, 3 July 2006 (MDT)

I'm thinking Lincoln...

Recently, I've started to think that it might be an idea if I created personalized User and Sysops images for users who log onto this site. So... If you wish for a request, just ask. It might also be an idea to create personalized Logo images (but that is for another day). Thus, I'll probably be trying to fill in requests by users wishing for personal images related to this site. Small idea, but It'll probably help me get further. I could also do sigs, but to a lesser extent, please. --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:32, 2 July 2006 (MDT)

What? Could you please explain this better, thanks. --Green Dragon 06:11, 3 July 2006 (MDT)
Er.... I'm just thinking that I could start doing requests for images for people on this site. Like how I did your sysops images? Exactly the same, but individualized.
Well, if someone wants one have fun making it, and best of luck with getting requests. --Green Dragon 11:32, 4 July 2006 (MDT)

Hehe, I don't mind, just more practice for me in the end. --Pz.Az.04Maus 14:51, 4 July 2006 (MDT)

Races Compendium

So, as a way of helping with this project, could I start contacting authors that have yet to be contacted, and asking for thier approval on thier races being moved here? I noticed that very few authors have yet been contacted, and figured I could help to move that along. -Aramar the Black.

Exactly! ^____^. You may start doing so, Aramar. --Pz.Az.04Maus 06:55, 4 July 2006 (MDT)

Regarding categories

I am assuming that once I recieve and okay from the author of a race, I may "post" thier race on this page. As for categories, do I put all moved races under the "user" category, or should they go under something else? Or both?

First of all, state your name, would help. Also, yes. Generally, once you receive an okay, you may post them. For now, just put them under their relevant user categories, as well as putting them into their general category (EG: Elves, Nekomimi [Catgirls], etc) --Pz.Az.04Maus 22:15, 4 July 2006 (MDT)

I am back for a little bit...

Hey PzAz, I recently arrived from southern Utah, and I will be staying here for a couple weeks. I will have a steady access to the internet again, so if any problems arise, I should be able to fix them. Thanks for looking after the site! (Green Dragon will arive next week on Thursday). Thanks again, --Blue Dragon 17:09, 20 July 2006 (MDT)

Weirdness... Errors?

Funny... I was recently updating my user page for (yet another) idea for some stuff, and I get this error.

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

    (SQL query hidden)

from within function "LinksUpdate::getExistingInterlangs". MySQL returned error "1146: Table 'ddwikidb.wdd_langlinks' doesn't exist
(localhost)".

Anyone know what this is about? --Pz.Az.04Maus 00:24, 21 July 2006 (MDT)

I got the exact same thing adding a comment to the Talk:Main Page. I know Blue did some sort of upgrade last night. --Oneiros 07:50, 21 July 2006 (MDT)
Sorry about the errors. The database update for MediaWiki 1.7.1 was never completed due to an error in distributed code (probably specific to my setup, I would hope). I just reverted to a backup copy, but retained the database seeing that it is not even partially changed. I will work on porting this to 1.7.1 in a sandbox, and try to figure out what is going wrong. For now, we will just continue to use MediaWiki 1.6.7. Sorry for any of the problems that this has caused, and they should not be fixed. If there are any more errors, please let me know. Thanks, --Blue Dragon 10:28, 21 July 2006 (MDT)
No problem, at least the D&D Wiki is at 90%+ efficiency. --Pz.Az.04Maus 11:34, 21 July 2006 (MDT)
