The Gods of Chaos (5e Pantheon)
From D&D Wiki
Surrounding the Planes of Existence there is a sea. This Great Sea is a congealed mass of everything in existence, all magic, all matter, everything. As of late, however, it has begun to leak into the Planes of Existence and has since been given a name:
The Warp[edit]
The warp is the place where the residual energies of emotion leak into. Every moment of fear, sadness and joy has traveled through here and altered the landscape to suit. The Warp is called a sea for a reason, it waxes and wanes with the surge of the emotions of mortals. In times of great suffering and fear, a crack can form and Daemons representing those fears will come to slaughter in their gods' name. There are four main gods:
Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, and Slaanesh.
These gods, and a few other notable entities of power, all contribute to something called The Great Game of Dominance. Each god wishes to rule the entirety of the warp, but it is impossible due to the waxing and waning power of emotion and that, if one god becomes too powerful, the rest will unite in their common interest to take them down.
This list will be sorted by the most powerful group of gods to the less powerful Daemon Princes.
The Four Gods of Chaos[edit]
This section will contain Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, and Slaanesh
Khorne, The Blood God[edit]
Khorne is the god of Blood, War, and Honor. He sits upon his throne of skulls, watching the mortals and his daemons battle for eternity. He is empowered by the simple yet powerful emotion of rage and the act of spilling blood. Those who follow Khorne are warriors unrivaled and without temples, as the only way to properly worship Khorne is to spill blood and collect skulls in his name. There are no clerics of Khorne, as he despises magic and sees it as cowardly and dishonorable.
Tzeentch, The Architect of Fate[edit]
Tzeentch is the god of Change, Magic, and Mutation. He sits within his Impossible Fortress, constantly scheming and planning for anything and everything that could and already has happened. He is empowered by the desire for change and the use of magic. Those who worship him are horribly deformed to the point that the original race they once were is undetectable, with the added gifts of visions of the future and unmatched magical abilities. Clerics can gain either the Knowledge Domain or the Fate Domain at their choice.
Nurgle, The Lord of Decay[edit]
Nurgle is the god of Death, Decay, and Peace. He dwells within The Garden of Nurgle, stirring his chamber pot, creating new and terrifying diseases to gift to his followers. He is empowered by the ever present fear of death and the cries of those brought low by pestilence. Those who worship him are rotten and bloated, yet do not feel pain, and are nearly unkillable due to their otherworldly resilience. Clerics gain the Death Domain and use it to spread the gifts of Nurgle to the Material Planes.
Slaanesh, God of Unspeakable Excess[edit]
Slaanesh is the god of Hedonism, Perfection, and Desire. He dwells within the Palace of Slaanesh, which is unguarded and open for all to experience the pleasures that excess brings. He is empowered by the unconscious action that is desire, and all the pride and satisfaction that comes with it. Followers of Slaanesh are more secretive of their worship, replacing insignia with lavish jewelry and silk garments. Clerics gain the Ambition Domain, seeking to gain the Dark Prince's favor and to experience all there is in unbelievable excess.
