Khorne (5e Deity)
From D&D Wiki
Khorne[edit]
Alignment. Chaotic Evil
Domains. War
Divine Rank. Greater Deity
Deep in the darkest depths of the Warp, where the blood of mortals flows like molten magma, and demons make endless war with each other, the orcs and the mortal followers of the blood god, all strive to catch the eye of Khorne and earn favour among his champions.
Khorne's realm is within the Warp. The brass citadel is where the blood resides, surrounded by a moat of boiling blood, said to have belonged to those warriors who failed to die in battle. At the center of the citadel, sitting upon a throne of skulls, sits the mighty blood god, Khorne himself, watching as he pits his greatest deamons and champions against each other in his blood pits for his own amusement.
Khorne is depicted as being a large warrior with a skull for a face mask, his armor, a burning brass stained red with the blood of trillions killed in his name. Avatars/Greater demons, of Khorne are large winged beasts with snarling, dog-like faces. They carry an array of combat weapons, normally axes and spiked barbed whips made from the spines of mortals, grisly trophies of glorious slaughter.
Khorne holds no tolerance for the other Chaos gods, he cares little for Nurgle and his plagues. He sees Tzeentch as a weakling and a coward for the use of magic and deception. But his hatred for Slaanesh is the greatest of all, as Slaanesh favours keeping the enemy alive and torturing them for as long as possible, which is dishonorable in the eyes of Khorne, who believes in honorable combat.
Khorne's followers are warriors without exception, for the only path to the skull throne is through battle. His followers build no temples but, rather worship him on the battlefield. To devote time to building temples rather than fighting for something would more likely incur Khorne's wrath than please him. Worship of Khorne is purely through bloodshed, either from one's enemies in victory or one's own through earnest struggle; it is said that any follower who allows a day to pass without contributing to this act of worship will incur Khorne's displeasure.
