The Endless are a group of deities whose name is a definition of their function eg:Death commands the dead. They are a family of seven siblings, most having dark hair and pale skin though their appearance can change at will.

The Endless are all tied to their function. Even if one is destroyed it will be replaced by a second version of itself making them endless. If an Endless is not participating in their duties the universe can intervene and separate their soul into more willing beings. The Endless all have a realm which reflects their duties and they all own a copy of the others sigils, with which they can contact others. Many have not only control over their realm but the antithesis. Dream can sometimes affect reality and Death is present at every birth and in certain conditions some can control small portions of the others realms, this is mainly due to logical mishaps.

The limits to their powers are sometimes unclear, They often use the concepts of their power to control more powerful beings by threatening them of the consequences of what would happen should dreams or death stop. Some Endless are restricted by rules, for example dream cannot kill unless in certain .

The Endless' creation is unclear but they are the formation of the idea they represent, as long as it exists so does the Endless to match it. Death stated that she was there when the first living thing stirred, and Destiny has said that Dream gave the Earth itself the fond dream of being able to support life. Dream, according to Abel, was created shortly after Death as living things are born before they can dream.

Many creatures have tried to imitate the Endless, sometimes with acquired power, some have even hijacked the Endless' power, but it is unlikely any being can control the Endless' power be they stronger or weaker. The Endless are the only ones capable of performing their duties, that is why it is imperative they must.
