Talk:Path of the Chosen (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
This class seems pretty broken, also cleaning up the wording to be more in line with the PHB. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JeeroyIV (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- I second that notion. Could also take that opportunity to make it Khorne-ier, if Lavie doesn't beat me to the punch. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! --SwankyPants (talk) 18:15, 22 June 2021 (MDT)
Lots of abilities also scaled with proficiency bonus which is not good since that scales with character, not class, level. There was also a lot of just flat damage increases that scaled with half rounded up stat modifiers. It led to super inflated damage rolls, even for a barbarian. Also need to completely rework the first class feature, barbarians lose rage benefits while wearing heavy armor. User:JeeroyIV
- After further thought, I might just make this a general purpose chaos subclass. Unless you've already decided to work on it, I can't quite tell. Is it cool if I take over? --SwankyPants (talk) 18:21, 22 June 2021 (MDT)
You can take it over, plenty of other classes to work on on this site, maybe I'll even work on my own....... User:JeeroyIV
- Cool, cool. Sorry, I didn't realize that those edits weren't just the tags and wanted to avoid more problems. Thanks for letting me take this one! --SwankyPants (talk) 18:27, 22 June 2021 (MDT)
Malal Variant[edit]
Since he's questionably canon, I'm putting the Malal stuff here.
- Chosen of the Gods
Malal. The god of anarchy has granted you the power to instil fear in the fools of the world. While raging, when you hit a creature of evil or good alignment with a weapon attack, they must make a Wisdom saving throw equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your Proficiency bonus, or become frightened of you for the next minute. At the start of their turn, they may reattempt the save, ending the condition on a success.
- Mark of the Gods
Malal. You are null to the energies of the gods, chaos or not. You have resistance to radiant and necrotic damage, and advantage on all saving throws that would inflict this damage on a failure.
- Prince of Chaos
Malal. The powers of others shrivel in your presence. While raging, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, all of their saving throws, bonuses to saving throws, and bonus to attack rolls decrease by your rage damage bonus until the start of their next turn.
