If feats shouldn’t give class features then how come fighting initiate, Magic Initiate, Eldritch Adept, and Martial Adept exists? Those are all feats that give class features. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Killer Queen Over Heaven (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

Not that it grants class features, it grants any bard class feature. Like, if Eldritch Adept could grant Arcanum or Martial Adept granting extra attacks. While I don't think it should be deleted for it, it could certainly be slightly more limiting, at least. --SwankyPants (talk) 07:15, 11 January 2022 (MST)
When doing and posting on talk page include signature and timestamp, otherwise things tend to get hard to read in more talked through pages. And to issue on hand: fighting initiate is avalible to fighter, paladin, ranger, as a 1st or second level feature. Magic initiate gives you something akin to spellcasting, basically two cantrips and one use of one spell, so about 1st level of power I would say. Eldritch Adept gives you one invocation, ONE, not two, not scaling with level, one, in addition being able to qualify for invocation. Martial adept gives you around one third of what battlemaster gets. All of those are, well, reasonable with their benefits, and power they give you. This feat allows you to get bardic inspiration, as a whole, or Jack of all trades, song of rest, expertise(scaling with level). All features that make bard Unique from the rest of classes. It's like giving rage on a feat, or smites or action surge. Also, fun thing subclasses are class' features, so you can get literally valor bard as a feat, just on aedquate levels. But balancing this being problematic aside, this is simply not "cool"(? duno, words) to do, taking features off of one class for free use.--Cezaryx (talk) 07:17, 11 January 2022 (MST)
Yeah SwankyPants, that is on me entirely. It should not be to deletion, but I had no idea how to move with this. More restrictions? Just countercharm? Just bardic inspiration? Should it even increase charisma, rest of the mentioned feats here do not? So I kinda goofed and went with deletion, at least hoping for someone to show some interest with this, maybye telling what to do with it. Worst case it would be gone not too far in the future, but my lack of good ideas should not be the only reason. --Cezaryx (talk) 07:31, 11 January 2022 (MST)
I think some sort of minor inspiration could be used. Like, once a short rest, grant a d6 to somebodies roll as a bonus action. Could include one thing of expertise ontop, and that would do the trick. --SwankyPants (talk) 07:33, 11 January 2022 (MST)
Friendly reminder that Bardic Adept exists on the wiki, and does basically what you're getting at, just more in line with first-party design. --ZarHakkar (talk) 13:37, 11 January 2022 (MST)

I’m keeping this suggestions in mind I just haven’t been saying much as I’m currently trying to put my own thoughts into words. --Killer Queen Over Heaven (talk) 07:46, 11 January 2022 (MST)

I feel that these recent edits feel like a different feat of its own. Although I like the features and this kinda walks over what the original page was. For Example the description itself was changed from someone learning from a bard to just having a background in music. Along with that the features feel out of place. How would someone who's a novice at music be able to charm someone with their performance? Along with that I just feel that this current version of the feat doesn't match the name nor have any feeling of the original version. --Killer Queen Over Heaven (talk) 14:13, 18 January 2022 (MST)
