Novice Bard
Prerequisites: Charisma score 13 or higher
You start to pick up a thing or two from the charismatic ways of a bard. Putting them into practice you start to put these techniques into your own fighting style.
- You gain proficiency in the Performance skill and in one musical instrument of choice. If you’re already proficient, your proficiency bonus is doubled for checks you make with it.
- Pick a Bard class feature listed below. Due to you being slightly in tune with the ways of the Bard you can cause similar but not as great effects. You gain the Novice Bard feature chosen
- Inspiration: You can inspire others through stirring words or music. To do so, you use a bonus action on your turn to choose one creature other than yourself within 60 feet of you who can hear you. That creature gains one Bardic Inspiration die, a d6. Once within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die and add the number rolled to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes. The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. Once the Bardic Inspiration die is rolled, it is lost. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time. You can use this feature once. You regain any expended uses when you finish a short or a long rest.
- Song of Rest: You gain the song of rest class featured detailed in the Bard class.
- Jack of few trades: Pick one ability score, you can used half of your proficiency bonus for checks involving that score if you are not already proficient.
- Minor Countercharm: Pick either the charmed or frightened condition. You gain the effects listed for Countercharm but for only one of the conditions listed.
- Expertise: Choose one of your skill proficiencies. You can use double your proficiency bonus for all ability checks using the chosen proficiency.
