Talk:Heavy Weapon Duel Wielder (5e Feat)

From D&D Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Two weapon fighting is normally limited to light weapons (1d6 at most). Given an ability score modifier of +4, average damage is 11.

With heavy weapon duel wielder, wielding two mauls, the average damage is 18.

This is an extra 7 damage per turn.

Please consider how this compares to other feats. For example, it is almost the bonus that great weapon master gives, except without the penalty to hit. Is the reaction penalty really a good tradeoff? Marasmusine (talk) 16:20, 19 January 2022 (MST)

Seeing as we've been less conservative about feats as of late, perhaps this could become a followup to the standard Dual Wielder feat. Less of a steep increase. --SwankyPants (talk) 16:23, 19 January 2022 (MST)
This feat negates a reaction and your movement. For melee characters, this means you are trading two resources of your action economy for 8 points of damage more than you would normally get with two-weapon fighting. It is a high benefit, but it also means that your opponents can nove away from you without risking pursuit or opportunity attacks. Seems a fair trade to me.Anastacio (talk) 16:45, 19 January 2022 (MST).
Actually, my mistake, this was supposed to have your movement speed reduced to 0 when you used so. I shall correct it. Anastacio (talk) 16:48, 19 January 2022 (MST)
