Talk:Bless Water (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
Does the spell consume the silver used, or can you perpetually use this spell to freely create 50 gp flasks of holy water for a 1 time investment of 25 gp?--Kahz (talk) 06:27, 8 October 2016 (MDT)
I can see he edited it right after you made this comment, but, I think it would be cool if a spell like this just transformed the holy water for 8 hours or something without consuming 25 gp. As it is, this spell just takes something that requires 1 hour ritual and a spell slot and turns it into 1 action. — Guy (talk | edits) 19:41, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
The reason I made this spell was because it was previously a 3.5e spell however, within the holy water item page and the PHB, a cleric or paladin is able to making holy water by doing exactly what the spell describes in addition to expending the 1st level spell slot. The only difference being is that this is an action and what is described in the item/PHB is an hour long ritual. So this spell is more for the immediate creation of holy water instead of the hour wait. The only caveat being that you have to prepare the spell as clerics or paladins do. It could be revised to where it can be scaled to create larger amounts of holy water and perhaps give it a duration of how long it remains holy water as a balancing mechanic if, in the revision, there is the option to omit the requirement of the powdered silver. If the revision is done, curse water should be revised to match. --Roteton Kin (talk) 20:48, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
