Staff, rare The staff of the airbender is a magical staff designed to enhance the maneuverability of the user, it is a smooth, clean shaft of redwood with a dark leather grip on the upper-mid of the staff. Airbending. This staff has 4 charges. You can expend one charge of the staff to cast the control winds spell, or the gust of wind spell as a bonus action. The staff regains 1d4 charges at dawn. Flight. Once per day as an action, you can twist the leather handle on the shaft 90 degrees, the sides of the staff expand out large fan-like wings at the front, and some smaller tail wings at the back, with the staff in this mode, it loses its Airbending feature and becomes a ridable object with a flying speed of 70 feet. You must make a running jump to take the staff into the air. This feature lasts for two hours. If someone makes a successful attack against you, you must make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw or lose your grip on the staff and fall. If released while flying, the staff will glide forward on its own, moving at 50 feet and descending at 10 feet every round until it either lands or hits something, at which point it returns to its normal staff shape. After being used in this feature, all of the staff's charges are considered expended and are subject to the normal recharge rule. |
