Staff of Sands (5e Equipment)
Staff, rare (requires attunement by a sorcerer, warlock, or wizard) A medium staff, carved from sandstone and reinforced with baobab wood. A large hollow glass crystal is embedded at the head, containing an elemental spirit called a Siroccar. This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. The staff has 10 charges and regains 1d6+4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge roll a d20. On a 1, the staff crumbles into sand and is destroyed, and the Siroccar living inside it appears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. Spells. While holding the staff, you can use an action to expend some of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC: dust devil (2 charges), pass without trace (2 charges), or wall of sand (3 charges). Sand Golem. While holding the staff, you can use an action and expend 5 charges to call forth a Siroccar. It manifests in an unoccupied space that you can see within 5 feet of you, and uses the stats of a Siroccar, except it speaks all languages you do. The Siroccar disappears when it drops to 0 Hit Points, if you dismiss it, or after 1 minute. At that time you can expend any number of additional charges, each one extends the duration for 1 minute. The creature is an ally to you and your allies. In combat, the Siroccar shares your Initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It obeys your verbal commands (no action required by you). If you don't issue any, it takes the Dodge action and uses its movement to avoid danger. Each time you repeat this effect, the effect summons the same Siroccar, which retains all memories from previous times you summoned it, but has full hit points and loses any conditions it had when it was dismissed. |
