Skirmisher Vasto Lorde (Soul Society Supplement)
Skirmisher Vasto Lorde[edit]
Medium undead (Hollow), chaotic evil Armor Class 24 (Unarmored Defense)
Saving Throws Str +12, Dex +14, Wis +12 Reiryoku. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde has 170 reiryoku. Whenever it uses reiryoku, it is spent. It regains all reiryoku spent at the end of a short or long rest. Siege Monster. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde deals twice as much damage to objects and structures. Reiatsu-Empowered Strikes. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde's attacks are considered magical. Supreme Hollow. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde counts as Gargantuan for the purposes of grappling other creatures and wielding objects. King's Presence. If the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde utilizes its reiatsu against a creature, they make the Strength saving throw with disadvantage and take twice as much damage. Perfected Almagamation. The Vasto Lorde automatically succeeds on saving throws against effects that would target or affect its soul (such as the Soul Cage spell). Soul Devourer. Whenever the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde reduces a creature in Soul form to 0 hit points, they may choose to devour them, regaining reiryoku and hit points equal to the creature's reiatsu level times 5. These Reiryoku and hit points cannot pass their maximum. They can also devour the corpse of a soul who died in at max one minute ago. When a soul is devoured this way, they are killed outright and cannot be revived unless the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde is killed by a zanpakuto. Soul Separator. As part of hitting a creature that's not on soul form, it can spend 2 reiryoku to separate their soul from their bodies, turning them into a Wandering Spirit for 1 minute or until they die or are knocked unconscious. This only works if the creatures' reiatsu level is lower than 1. Hollow Regeneration. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde regains 5 (1d10) hit points after every minute passed while they are in the Hueco Mundo plane. Brawn/Evasion/Intuition. Whenever the Vasto Lorde is subject to an effect that forces it to make a Strength, Dexterity or Wisdom saving throw, it takes half as much damage on a failure and no damage on a success. Quick Cero. When it takes the attack action, once per turn, the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde can choose to use Cero in place of an attack (this counts as a modified Cero). Ceros made using this feature make the targets roll with disadvantage. If their Dexterity score is lower than 22, they cannot react to it until damage is dealt or the save is already made. Sonido. When the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde moves, it can triple its movement speed and become a blur for the duration of its movement. After using Sonido, it has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks until the beginning of its next turn. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks. After using Sonido, its first unarmed strike will be made with advantage until the beginning of its next turn. Finally, it is considered invisible to any creatures without a passive perception higher than or equal to 20, until the end of its turn or the start of its next turn (whichever comes first). This invisibility ends early if it attacks, casts a kido spell, uses a Cero or a similar action, forces a creature to make a saving throw or ability check, or deals damage. Finally, when it uses sonido, it can use a bonus action to take the dash action. Sonido Mirages(5 Reiryoku). When it uses sonido, the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde can choose to move in such a way where it leaves behind a mass of afterimages that confuse its opponents for the next minute. Each time a creature targets it with an attack for the duration of this effect, it rolls a d20 to determine whether the attack instead targets one of its duplicates. If it has six duplicates, it must roll a 3 or higher to change the attack's target to a duplicate. If it has three duplicates, it must roll a 6 or higher to change the attack's target to a duplicate. With two duplicates, it must roll an 8 or higher. With one duplicate, it must roll an 11 or higher. A duplicate's AC equals to the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde's AC. If an attack hits a duplicate, the duplicate is destroyed, and the attack is considered to have missed it. A duplicate can be destroyed only by an attack that hits it. It ignores all other damage and effects. The effect ends when all 6 duplicates are destroyed, or when the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde makes an attack. A creature is unaffected by this effect if lacks the ability to see, though not through the blinded condition. A creature can use a bonus action to make a Wisdom (Perception) check contested by a Dexterity (Stealth) check made by the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde. On a success, they can ignore this effect for the rest of their turn. They can't take this bonus action unless their reiatsu level is 20 or higher. Reactive. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde regains its reaction at the start of each creature’s turn in combat. If it spends its reaction on its turn, it doesn't regain it until another creature’s turn passes. If it needs to dodge an attack on a successful Evasive Dexterity Saving Throw, such as a cero, it can use its reaction to regain enough movement to do so, provided its speed would be high enough to do so without accounting for expended movement, and it succeeded on the Dexterity saving throw. Lord of Speed. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde has advantage on Dexterity saving throws. Athlete. When the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde is prone, standing up uses only 5 feet of its movement. Also, climbing doesn't cost it extra movement. Also, it can make a running long jump or a running high jump after moving only 5 feet on foot, rather than 10 feet. Mobile. When it uses the dash action, the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde doesn't spend extra movement when moving through difficult terrain for that turn. Crusher. Once per turn, when the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde hits a creature with an attack that deals bludgeoning damage, it can move it 5 feet to an unoccupied space, provided the target is no more than one size larger than the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde. Also, when the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde scores a critical hit that deals bludgeoning damage to a creature, attack rolls against that creature are made with advantage until the start of your next turn. ACTIONSMultiattack. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde makes five unarmed strike attacks. Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) bludgeoning damage. Garganta. The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde can spend 10 reiryoku to open a portal between dimensions, sending them to Hueco Mundo. If they do not move 5 feet or lose concentration, they are transported to any location they can visualize in Hueco Mundo or a random location on the plane, or to the last place they used Garganta, at the beginning of their next turn. If they are already within Heuco Mundo, this portal instead works as if it were the gate spell, minus that they cannot pull a creature through the gate. Cero(15 Reiryoku). As an action, the Vasto Lorde can fire off a beam of energy in a 40 feet wide, 480 feet long line. Each creature within that area must make a DC 20 Evasive Dexterity Saving Throw. On a failed save, they take 190 (20d8 + 100) force damage. BONUS ACTIONSEnhanced Living Weapon (5 Reiryoku). The Skirmisher Vasto Lorde can take the dodge or dash action. This dash action triples its jump distance. Also, if it takes the dodge action it can also take the disengage action. Finally, when it takes the attack action, it can use this feature to make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action. REACTIONSSonido Dodge. Whenever the Skirmisher Vasto Lorde is targetted by an attack roll, line or cone saving throw, it can use a reaction to move up to its Sonido affected movement speed (taking from its next turn's movement). |
