---|---|

Components: | V, S, M (a small metal statue of a bear worth at least 5,000 gp) |
Duration: | 365 days |
When you cast this spell, choose one creature whose location you know within range. Unless the target succeeds a Charisma saving throw, both you and that creature fall unconscious for 1 minute.
While unconscious in this way, both you and the target enter a dream-like state where the two of you can freely converse. You can freely shape the appearance of this environment, but it always contains a few onlookers in the form of spectral bears. For example you could make it appear that you and the target are sitting across the table from each other in a tavern, with the bears sitting at other tables as patrons. You can choose to immerge from this trance at any time (no action required), ending the spell early. Each time the target takes damage while unconscious, they can make another Charisma saving throw, waking from the trance and ending the spell early on a success.
If both you and the target remain unconscious for a full minute, you gain the ability to impose a restriction on the target's behavior. This restriction punishes the target from engaging in certain behavior until the spell ends. Once you name your restriction, the target can attempt to also impose a restriction upon you via this spell. You must succeed a Charisma saving throw or become bound by your target's restriction for as long as your target is bound by your restriction. The DC for this saving throw is equal to 8 + the target's Charisma modifier + the target's proficiency bonus.
After you and your target name your restriction, you both awaken from your trance and are no longer unconscious.
Restrictions imposed by this spell must follow a few rules: Restrictions cannot involve a creature intentionally harming or killing itself (such as by refraining from food or drink); Restrictions cannot entirely prevent a creature from taking a type of action or movement (a restriction could prevent a creature from attacking an elf, but not from making an attack entirely. Similarly, a restriction could prevent a creature from casting a school of magic, such as Necromancy, but not from casting all spells); Finally, Restrictions cannot ensure that a creature engages in any specific behavior (only that they don't perform a certain behavior).
If you attempt to impose a restriction that violates any of these rules, that restriction fails to take effect. However, you also gain the opportunity to impose a different restriction that follows these rules.
If a creature violates a restriction imposed upon them during this spell's duration, they immediately take 8d12 force damage in the form of a spectral bear attack, which cannot be reduced or prevented in any way. If this damage reduces a creature's hit points to 0, they are instantly slain and a brown bear appears in the nearest unoccupied space. A creature who dies in this way cannot be returned to life, even by a wish spell or divine intervention.
This spell can be ended early (for both you and the target) if dispel magic or remove curse is cast at 9th level on either creature.
At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a level 9 spell slot, the duration of this spell becomes until dispelled.
