Raigo (5e Spell)
6th-level evocation | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 120 feet |
Components: | V, S, M (a small sphere of copper worth at least 500 gp, which the spell consumes) |
Duration: | Concentration, up to 1 minute |
You summon a massive, crackling sphere of electrical energy that floats ominously in the air before unleashing devastating power. Choose a point within range where the raigo manifests. The sphere is a 30-foot-radius, levitating orb of raw lightning energy that you can control until the spell ends.
When the raigo appears, creatures within 10 feet of its initial position must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, they take 6d10 lightning damage, or half as much on a successful save. As an action on subsequent turns, you can move the raigo up to 30 feet in any direction. When the raigo moves, it emits a pulse of lightning energy. Each creature it passes within 10 feet must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d10 lightning damage on a failed save or half as much on a success. You can also use your action to collapse the raigo in a devastating explosion. When you do, the raigo detonates in a 60-foot-radius sphere centered on its location. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 10d10 lightning damage and is pushed 15 feet away from the sphere's center. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed. After exploding, the raigo vanishes. The area affected by the raigo's detonation becomes difficult terrain for 1 minute as residual electricity scorches the ground.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage of the initial pulse, movement pulse, and detonation each increase by 1d10 for each slot level above 6th.
