Purple Haze (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
9th-level Evocation | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 30 feet |
Components: | V, S, M (A glass ampule worth at least 50 gp) |
Duration: | Instantaneous |
The ampule becomes filled with horribly deadly virus that kills indiscriminately. As an action, you cast this spell and select a point within 30 feet to throw the ampule. It then explodes, releasing a purple gas containing the virus, in a 15 foot radius. Any creatures within range of the gas must make a Constitution saving throw. If the creature fails the saving throw, they become infected and begin to decompose. If the creature has less than 100 hit points, they are devoured slowly by the virus and become a pile of organic goo in 30 seconds. If the creature has 100 hit points or more, they take 8d6 poison damage. Creatures that remain within the gas must make the save again and creatures that have already failed the save must make another at disadvantage. Small or tiny creatures that fail the saving throw are devoured and killed instantly. After 1 minute, all traces of the virus are destroyed by any nearby light sources, such as a torch or sunlight. If there is no light to sterilize the area, then the gas will remain within its current space until it is exposed to 1 minute of bright light.
