Power Word Agony (5e Spell)

Stub Logo.png This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: Gains extra damage at levels that don't follow normal cantrip progression. You have disadvantage, not a disadvantage. Missing SRD links. A cantrip should not deal 3d4 damage. 18:24, 16 June 2024 (MDT)

Broom Icon.svg.png This page needs grammatical help. Reason: Does not follow wording standards; does not use disclaimer template for disclaimer, does not use talk page for extraneous messaging. Includes unnecessary backstory fluff that detracts from mechanics.

Power Word Agony
Enchantment cantrip
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S, M (a hand)
Duration: Instantaneous

Backstory: One day, a little dragonborn sorcerer named Arjhan was messing around with a childhood friend, Kriv sending red sparks everywhere, but when he said one wrong incantation his beloved friend dropped to the ground, writhing in pain. When it stopped he was dead, and the next thing Arjhan knew, he was crumbling away to dust, the power overcoming him causing him to wither away.

Warning, (and note to DM) when you use this spell your comrades begin to not trust you and any familiar/charmed person will try to harm you.

Your hands glow a deep red preparing for the pain that you are about to cause. You point at your target fall to prone and start to scream in pain doing 2d4 psychic damage. The tortured creature's screams echo everywhere and cause a disadvantage on Strength and Charisma checks until killed or stopped. Near by creatures will get enraged with the screaming and will turn their attention to the tortured thing.

At level 5, ll, and 15, the number of dice doubles for the amount of points of damage it does. At 15th level you can also torture two more creatures and make tortured creatures do your bidding. At level 5 when a creature dies due to this spell, the tortured creature's body implodes dealing 1d12 force damage to all creatures (Including you and you comrades!) 5 feet away to the body and does 1d4 to all creatures that are 10 feet away to it. After using this spell, and killing something with it, you hand withers and gives you disadvantage on all Strength checks until it heals. No one can heal you hand magically or through any special remedies. After an hour in sunlight your hand slowly goes back to normal. Edit: You can use this on any one, not just your enemies.

For those who make stubs: If any of you have possible ideas for this spell I would love feedback
