You call forth a miniature star from the cosmos, which can be fired and redirected as you please.
As part of casting this spell, the star will travel in a straight line anywhere within 15ft of you. The star will detonate upon collision with any hostile creature causing them and any creature within 5ft of them to make a Dexterity saving throw taking 1d4 radiant damage on a failure or half as much on a success. For every 10ft the star travels after the spell is initially cast, it will gain an additional d4 damage up to a maximum of 5d4 additional damage. If the star reaches its maximum distance during its initial travel, it will linger in the space until the end of your next turn.
Additionally, as a bonus action or an action, while the paddle star is lingering, you may redirect the paddle star to a location within 15ft of the caster.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, increase the initial damage of this spell by 1d4 and maximum additional damage by 2d4 for every tier above 1st.
