Life Sap (5e Spell)

Life Sap/Give
1st-level Necromancy
Casting time: 1 bonus action
Range: 60 feet
Components: S, M (A drop of blood)
Duration: Concentration

Choose a creature that you can see within range. That creature must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target takes necrotic damage equal to 1d4 plus your spellcasting modifier.

You can then gain the same amount of temporary hit points or you can give the temporary hit points to another creature that you can see within range. You must have a free hand to take hit points and another free hand to give hit points. If the target's hit points drop to 0, the spell ends.

This spell has no effect on undead or constructs.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the necrotic damage/temporary hit points increases by 1d4 per spell slot level above 1st.
