Grasp (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
2nd-level Conjuration | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 30 feet |
Components: | S |
Duration: | Concentration, up to 1 minute |
You grab your target with a telekinetic invisible projection of your hand. A Large or smaller target must succeed on a Strength saving throw, or is grappled by you. Large creatures have Advantage on the save. Objects automatically fail the save.
You can then move the grappled target 10 feet in any direction. You can't move a target outside the spell distance.
On its turn, a grappled target can use an Action to attempt the save again, escaping the grasp on a success.
Using your Action in each turn, you can use one of the following commands:
- Release
You release the hand, move it up to 30 feet and attempt to grapple another target.
- Drag
You can move a grappled target additional 20 feet in any direction within the range of the spell.
- Crush
You force the target to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and starts Choking (if it needs to breathe) until it succeeds the save. If you don't use your Action to keep crushing in subsequent turns, the target is no longer choking.
