Gora the Foe Crusher[edit]
Gora the Foe Crusher is an intermediate deity in the Fortress Celestia setting, a planar lord worshipped by hunters, warriors, barbarians, and others whose livelihood depends on force of arms, especially giants and humanoids such as gnolls, goblinoids, and orcs.
Dogma[edit]
The successful being is the one who can defeat his enemies on the battlefield, slaying those who would harm him, and devouring the weak. Become strong so that you might crush those who oppose you.
Clergy and Temples[edit]
Gora is a popular god; his temples are simple and common. Most are simple shrines cared out of solid stone. Others are large and built from blocks each weighing many tons. Gora's priests dress in plain red robes or their battle gear. Many of his churches practice torture, sacrifice, and consuming the flesh of sentient beings.
Pantheon[edit]
Gora was created for the Fortress Celestia setting, as the "brute" of the pantheon, but DM's are welcome to "borrow" this deity or any elements of this description for their own purposes.
Roleplaying Notes[edit]
Gora appears in many forms, all of them predatory creatures of great strength. Most often he is depicted as a ruggedly handsome, muscular humanoid of immense size, dressed in a simple robe made of animal skins. Gora is a cruel god who loves violence and blood. He likes creatures like giants that are strong enough to pound, rip, or tear other sentient beings with their bare hands. He has little interest in 'the little races' except that he thinks they are fun to smash.
