Unsettling. The first time a creature sees a combat form after each short or long rest, they must attempt a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they are frightened for 1 minute. They may retry this saving throw at the end of each of their turns.

Flesh Vehicle. If the combat form is killed by piercing damage that is not from a critical hit, it creates an infection form anywhere within 5 feet.

In the early stages of a flood infection, flood infection forms plant themselves in the corpses of a planet or installation's native life, piloting it as a flesh vehicle. As an infection reaches the mid-stage, combat forms are typically broken down for biomass, becoming pure forms.

Variants: Infected Species

Depending on the species infected, combat forms have a variety of slightly different capabilities.

Elite. The combat form has 10 temporary hit points. If they do not receive damage for 3 rounds (18 seconds), they regain these temporary hit points. Temporary hit points gained in this manner can not exceed 10. Additionally, it has one of the following attack:

Type-25 Directed Energy Pistol Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, range (20/150), one target. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 1) lightning damage.

Brute. The combat form has a +1 bonus to its AC. Additionally, it has the following action:

Human. The combat form has the following attack:
