Erunis (Shard Ne'Vaal Supplement)

The kingdom of Erunis was formed early in the Lost Era, from tribes whose population and land from southeast Tyrakia had remained relatively intact through the horrible cataclysm in the Age of Flies. Unfortunately, they were invaded by arachnid forces from mad cultist indigenous tribes who had turned to dark magic for survival. As a result, the god Shabast had the entire land on which the kingdom stood sunk into the ocean, where its ruins lie to this day. The original location of this kingdom is where the Shredded Womb lay.

History[edit]

Erunis was a medium sized country located on the continent of Okut, where it was surrounded by tribal, unfederated lands. As such, Erunis was always a bit of an outlier among its neighbors, having set up a central government and societal system that differed from the tribal normal. Erunis was originally land divided between 6 tribes of Okutians known as the Hoh-Kee, I-poh, Sarahzel, Tiriki, Dagoon, and Niabal. Following a treaty and suspicions against their neighboring tribes in the Age of Flies, the 6 solidified their ties and thus formed Erunis. This earned them the suspicion of surrounding tribes in the modern-day Hunter Lands, who were now fearful of the consolidated efforts that Erunis might amass to incorporate them as well. Some other tribe groups did try to replicate this success through their own agreements, but none amounted to much more than a loose alliance that only would take effect if they were invaded by Erunis. These fears never came truly to fruit, as Erunis was more interested in their own fortifications against threats of monsters and growing their ties with other nations like a growing Uruzi.
