You touch a creature, causing crystals grow from their body, providing you sharp protection. For the duration, the target's base AC becomes 15 + its Dexterity modifier (maximum +2), and if a creature hits the target with a melee attack, the attacker takes piercing damage equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting modifier. The spell ends if the target dons armour or if you dismiss the spell as an action.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd-Level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
