Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes

Choose a willing creature you can see within range. That creature gains 2d4 temporary hit points, which last for the duration.

While this spell persists, the ward splinters if the target is struck by a melee attack. Any remaining temporary hit points from this spell are lost, but the attacking creature must succeed a Dexterity saving throw, or take force damage equal to the number of temporary hit points the target lost this turn. This spell then ends.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the target gains 1d4 additional temporary hit points, for each slot level above 1st.
