Coming of a mongrel origin, Aulordimo has come to be a paragon of wisdom from a mixed bag of history. They are well known for their legendary sages, who are said to have steered the nation's path through history and allowed it to survive.

History[edit]

Aulordimo came about as the result of indigenous peoples who settled near the coasts of western Okut, originally part of Tyrakia. Upon the discovery of various limestone quarries and salt mines located deeper inland, they created various beauteous structures that had international acclaim. After the breaking of the world following the Lost Era, the rediscovery of the world via seaward expansion led to Aulordimo natives coming under imperialistic desires from afar. As a result, much of Aulordimo's land was seized to become colonies. After years of conflict, Aulordimo regained independence at around 599 BG. A civil war was waged between the fractured and newly emancipated colonies, which had grown fractured as a result of colonialization's influences.

Governance[edit]

Aulordimo's government was traditionally similar to that of a monarchy, with the head position, called the Farah, leading the country. Following the civil war in the middle of the False Dawn Era, the Farah's power came to be balanced against that of regional chieftains who also could oust or elect the Farah as counsel.

Culture[edit]

"Enliftenment"[edit]

Effects on Writing

Example Aulordimon script

Aulordimo has a unique writing system read upwards instead of down, left to right. It is due to their fervent belief in intelligence and wisdom in their society and its roles in their lives. Reading, an act of scholarship, is one such thing tied to the Enliftenment. Writing naturally follows. As the Enliftenment ties all things knowledge based to the heavens, or upwards, it only made sense for text to "lift" itself as well, and thus its meaning extends upward. The original intent was that as one proves their literacy, they ascend towards the ideal of knowledge.

Religion[edit]

Aulordimo disseminated a religion known as the Griot Pantheon, which is led by Shabast. It is considered parallel to the Okut Pantheon and unique because it has some roots outside the continent, notably in southern Dasoon.
