I guess put it under DnD diseases? Is there such a catagory? Its kinda a joke disease, but has potential to give someone an idea for a more serious disease, or maybe a curse.--Sand-reckoner 18:29, 10 March 2006 (MST)

What you did with it is just fine. There are many more user created diseases in a thread called "I feel sick..". There is no search function it seems at wizard's community, but I will try and find the thread.--Sand-reckoner 21:15, 10 March 2006 (MST)

I'd like to talk to you two some more; could you give me an IM address of some sort? Because catching you in IRC is difficult. - (Peerless too lazy to login) 23:45, 29 April 2006 (MDT)

I am normally on several different IRC servers, but I will just automatically log in to #dndwiki (on freenode) as of now. We should soon be able to talk that way. --Blue Dragon 23:56, 29 April 2006 (MDT)

Issue

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

   (SQL query hidden)

from within function "SearchMySQL4::update". MySQL returned error "126: Incorrect key file for table './ddwikidb/wdd_searchindex.MYI'; try to repair it (localhost)".

For page Magic Items: Armor (SRD Rules) --Dmilewski 10:37, 16 May 2006 (MDT)

Unknow

I need to talk to you, get in IRC when you can? 69.178.90.247 18:20, 16 May 2006 (MDT)

Still Happening

I'm still getting an SQL4 error when trying to rename pages. See SRD:Fox's Cunning.

Whoa...

Nice Talk Page... --Pz.Az.04Maus 01:23, 4 June 2006 (MDT)

Something for everyone...

A little 'gift...'

3 --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:52, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

um... Sorry to bother...

I'm seemingly having trouble with some things on my user page. If you wish, for a side project, perhaps give my user page a bit of a make over? Needs a little cleaning and dustin'... Again, I'm just asking, so don't feel obligated... --Pz.Az.04Maus 14:21, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

RE: Cleaning User Pages... All that jazz...

I don't mind if you even don't do it at all, but heh. thx. Alright, editing now. :P Stupid mistakes. --Pz.Az.04Maus 14:25, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

Fixed! --Pz.Az.04Maus 14:35, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

Wait 1 minute

Wait.... I want to make the font .8en (?) or whatever it is called. --Green Dragon 16:06, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

And do 5...... --Green Dragon 16:13, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
Also, answer the last question on my talk page. --Green Dragon 16:15, 6 June 2006 (MDT)
Looks alright, now just have to wait for Dmilewski to respond. --Green Dragon 16:20, 6 June 2006 (MDT)

You mentioned something about chat...

Hey Pz.Az.04Maus, you recently mentioned something about chatting about D&D wiki, and so, thinking about that, I set up a IRC server (ircd-ircu), and a web based chat client (CGI:IRC) on chat.dandwiki.com. Log in sometime, and let me know if it works. I could work on a more D&D Based theme for it, but right now I want to make sure that it works. (P.S., it currently only accepts nick names that are nine characters long, so log in with something similar to yours. I will try to get that fixed soon.) --Blue Dragon 12:21, 7 June 2006 (MDT)

Okay, will do.--Pz.Az.04Maus 13:09, 7 June 2006 (MDT)
I've been trying it for a few days now... Works fine as far as I can tell. --Pz.Az.04Maus 12:13, 8 June 2006 (MDT)
On another note, currently, with Trillian, it doesn't work. However, I have clicked the link directly, and it seems to be alright. (PS: I am not so Tech savvy as I want to be, so you might get moronic answers some of the time) --Pz.Az.04Maus 12:22, 8 June 2006 (MDT)

Cleaning my User Page

It should probably look similar to yours, perhaps keeping the same color codes as mine already has. I'm not sure about the rest, but do what you will. --Pz.Az.04Maus 11:47, 12 June 2006 (MDT)

Logo...

The first 2 editions are ready to be used. Comments welcome, you know what to ask. Just start using it, however. --Pz.Az.04Maus 15:16, 13 June 2006 (MDT)

Hey Pz.Az.04Maus, this is an excellent logo! I cannot think of anything that would be better, or anything that could improve it at all. It is wonderful, and makes D&D Wiki look a ton better! Now all that we have to think about are [possibly] new colors for the site, something more related to D&D. I will have to wait to talk to Peter on the phone about that, seeing that he is currently in Germany. I really like this, thank you a ton. I am glad that you are volunteering to monitor D&D Wiki when I am gone, if you want the password to the auto-patroller that I made I can give it to you (so you can patrol all of, say, Dmilewski's edits or your own edits so that when you are monitoring recent changes you can press "Hide Patrolled Edits" and you will only see possibly malicious ones). Log into chat sometime when I am on (not too much longer, unfortunately; I have to leave to soon), and I will be more than happy to give it to you. Again, thank you for the logo, --Blue Dragon 20:12, 13 June 2006 (MDT)

Okay, send the password. Meh, if I get forced into this, I'll take it. so... DM and me will be managing the site while you 2 are off in Germany? --Pz.Az.04Maus 21:11, 13 June 2006 (MDT)

Quote: User page

Hey PzAz, I kindof fooled around with your user page a bit, if you want anything changed just let me know and I will be more than happy to change it. If you do not like it, I will not be at all offended, and just change it back to your last edit. P.S., you made a small edit before I changed it, you might want to re-do that edit :P. --Blue Dragon 12:05, 14 June 2006 (MDT)

Whoa... Thanks! I'll keep in touch to see what tweaks it needs! --Pz.Az.04Maus 12:08, 14 June 2006 (MDT)

about Portal:DnD

Soon, we might need to get them portals fixed. I have no clue on what I was doing, but it looks like a big red mess... We should put it on the backburner, perhaps, until we can get somewhere with it. --Pz.Az.04Maus 12:21, 14 June 2006 (MDT)

link to the Portal
Last note, I was the one who started that, so yeah. my fault. --Pz.Az.04Maus 12:29, 14 June 2006 (MDT)

Database Error

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

   (SQL query hidden)

from within function "LinksUpdate::getExistingInterlangs". MySQL returned error "1146: Table 'ddwikidb.wdd_langlinks' doesn't exist (localhost)".--Dmilewski 09:36, 21 July 2006 (MDT)

The Firefox D&D Wiki Icon

Where exactly are the icons for the Firefox tabs that concern the D&D Wiki located? I'd like to see what I could do to edit them sometime, and perhaps fix them up. --Pz.Az.04Maus 20:06, 23 July 2006 (MDT)

The firefox D&D icon is located at http://www.dandwiki.com/favicon.ico. Because it is not running through the Wiki, you can make a good, real one (I just found this on the internet from 1997 or something similar), and upload it through the D&D Wiki image uploading system, and then I can symlink (or softlink) to it. That would be great! --Blue Dragon 20:22, 23 July 2006 (MDT)

RE: Color scheme

Something that you could do later on, or whenever you have free time, would be to come up with a good color scheme and background picture for D&D Wiki. The default Monobook color scheme is not very Medieval looking, and the background does not work too well with your great logo. It is just something to think about. --Blue Dragon 20:24, 23 July 2006 (MDT)

Alrighties, I'll see what I can think up. I'm perhaps going to need some guides for this kind of work, however, as I've never really skinned a website before. I think I should be able to find some guides on my own, however, but if you have any good guides (or if there aren't really any), just tell me. --Pz.Az.04Maus 20:27, 23 July 2006 (MDT)

RE: Help Section

Quote:

Hey PzAz, I am trying to clean up the help section and make it a lot more legible, and so I decided that it would be best to delete a lot of the Wikipedia content. I believe that we should provide links to Wikipedia for the editing aspects, and only cover the basics and the D&D Wiki specific help areas here. Let me know what you think, --Blue Dragon 01:40, 25 July 2006 (MDT)

I guess... Perhaps we should consider keeping the idea of expanded help pages for later, once/if we get more complex/different from Wikipedia enough that they wouldn't be the same anymore. However, please keep the templates/Skin help stuff (I maybe need those) --Pz.Az.04Maus 07:32, 25 July 2006 (MDT)

Fundamental Problem with the SRD.

I have been looking around recently, as right now I'm at school, and I noted one huge glaring error. Where the hell is the basic Level stuff? Nowhere that I've seen, of which I've been looking at where it should "Be" in the PHB, is the section where it tells you the feats you get, or the bonus attribute scores. It's small, yet large at the same time since most classes don't get that many bonus feats, and it's really annoying to have to go around and find the stuff I need to get, often which would be more vague than if I simply got the PHB out. --Pz.Az.04Maus 10:08, 25 July 2006 (MDT)

You are absolutely correct. This is a fundamental problem with the SRD. The problem is, unfortunately, not D&D Wiki's (meaning we cannot fix it). According the WotC,
The System Reference Document is a comprehensive toolbox consisting of rules, races, classes, feats, skills, various systems, spells,
magic items, and monsters compatible with the d20 System version of Dungeons & Dragons and various other roleplaying games from Wizards
of the Coast. You may consider this material Open Game Content under the Open Game License, and may use, modify, and distribute it.
That means that the books are not part of the SRD, only the creatures, feats, monsters, basic rules, etc. I really wish that it was otherwise, but we would be breaking copyright laws if we were to put any material from the PHB on here. I am sorry, and I wish that there was some way we could do it. --Blue Dragon 10:17, 25 July 2006 (MDT)

Sandbox Problem

It says not to edit above the line, but I want to use the sandbox to prototype a Template and I need the tags around the header (or have it deleted) to test out the idea I've been kicking around in my head. Any way around this? --Sledged 13:57, 25 July 2006 (MDT)

Preview? --Oneiros 14:01, 25 July 2006 (MDT)
Good thinking Oneiros, a preview would be the best option. I had typed before I saw your idea (which still applies but is more work): "Sure! You can go ahead and delete it as long as your final edit (once all of the testing is done) puts the header back on so people know what is happening, and my script can clean it.". --Blue Dragon 14:04, 25 July 2006 (MDT)
Preview doesn't work because none of the changes go into effect until it's saved, but if deleting and reinserting after testing is fine, I'll just do that. --Sledged 14:35, 25 July 2006 (MDT)

Problem with Nekomimi Pictures

For reasons unknown, I now get this:

Error creating thumbnail: convert: unable to open image

`/home/dandwiki-com/public_html/w/images/thumb/d/d7/1128559207_catgirl_849.png/300px-1128559207_catgirl_849.png': Permission denied.

Wenever I open my User page. It works half alright at the source page (I don't think it fully interlaces correctly, as it seems a bit more jagged then usualy), nor have I checked the Nekomimi pic, but that's what I get. --Pz.Az.04Maus 01:41, 31 July 2006 (MDT)

Hey Pz.Az.04Maus, thanks for letting me know of this problem. It should now be fixed. Try pressing Ctrl+F5 or clear your browser cache to see the proper userpage. The problem was with having the thumbs folder have permissions of 0644 with dandwiki-com as the user. I chowned it to www-data and chmod 0644 so it should work now. Sorry for the problems, --Blue Dragon 10:07, 31 July 2006 (MDT)
Glad to hear it ^_^ --Pz.Az.04Maus 10:10, 31 July 2006 (MDT)
That's odd... Still there. The problem, that is. --Pz.Az.04Maus 10:11, 31 July 2006 (MDT)
It should not be. Press Ctrl+Shift+Del, restart your browser, and go to your user page. The error should now be fixed, and I believe that you are probably viewing a cached page. Try to also press the "purge" tab to clear both Squid's cache and MediaWiki's MySQL cache. I recently did fix the problem, and your user page is showing up fine for me, but let me know if it is either fixed or it is still happening with a new cache. Thanks, --Blue Dragon 10:15, 31 July 2006 (MDT)

Port 81

I tried http://img.dandwiki.com:81/, but got a "taking too long to respond" error both times, with ominous "if you're behind a firewall" information as one of the possible causes. The port 81 problem sounds like the culprit, as I've found the exact issue mentioned elsewhere via Google-Fu (like this site.) Hopefully, the traffic on this site isn't so much that switching images/resources back to 80 will cause any real response problems or be a hassle to do. Sorry for being such a PITA :) --Oneiros 15:10, 7 September 2006 (MDT)

Hello Onerios. I have set up a new website which you should be able to access at work which is http://nf.dandwiki.com/ (the nf stands for no firewall). This website creates a slightly larger burden on the server (because KeepAlive is off and it requests static content), but people only use it when they are behind a firewall then it will be no problem. I do recommend, however, that you use dandwiki.com at your house or when you have access to port 81. The code and data all resides on www.dandwiki.com, and nf.dandwiki.com only has a few configuration changes, so because it is the same site you will not see *any* abnormal delay in viewing the website. Sorry for all of the problems, and I hope that it works now, --Blue Dragon 11:23, 9 September 2006 (MDT)
Onerios, does it work? --Green Dragon 16:03, 9 September 2006 (MDT)
WOOT! It works. Thanks guys. --Oneiros 07:35, 11 September 2006 (MDT)
I will tell Blue Dragon that you are very pleased. Also, when you go to the main page with the firewall on (http://dandwiki.com) is the You have a firewall activated. Press here to go to a "firewall friendly" version of D&D Wiki. to big, or OK? Blue Dragon likes it at 2em, but I think it looks better at 2.5 em (More pronounced) .... your opinion? --Green Dragon 22:29, 11 September 2006 (MDT)
Well, it certainly is pronounced. Of course, without any CSS on that page, "looks better" is pretty relative. Personally, though, I might go with the 2em font, but maybe make it red? --Oneiros 07:16, 12 September 2006 (MDT)
I'll put a firewall on and decided which looks best... Thanks for the input, and don't be surprised if that is how it ends up :) . --Green Dragon 19:41, 13 September 2006 (MDT)

Yay! It's Here!

Hey Blue! Would you, could you, please, might you, possibly install the variables extension, please?

Pretty please.

With sugar on top. —Sledged 16:52, 23 October 2006 (MDT)

Call it done! And I cannot wait to see what you will be able to do with this now... --Blue Dragon 17:10, 23 October 2006 (MDT)
If it works the way I hope it works, I'm gonna use it to take care of one of three things that's been bugging me about the NPC stat block. Thanks a bunch! —Sledged 20:41, 23 October 2006 (MDT)
Is it really that important? It seems to lag D&D Wiki quite a bit, is their another alternative? Another way to do what this does? I think it hurts many visitors that come here, even though it may make NPC's easier to handle. --Green Dragon 20:57, 24 October 2006 (MDT)
One thing I've noticed since the upgrade to version 1.8, the pages using the stat block template come up faster than they did before. It used to take the better part of a minute to bring up any page that used the stat block (which was the second of three things that's been bugging me about it). It looks like they changed when included templates get processed. Instead of doing it when the page in question is called, it's all done whenever the page is saved, or when the underlying templates are changed, and the wiki caches the final result of all that processing for faster retrieval. So editing the NPC stat block is what's causing the huge lag in the site. Now that I know this I'll have a little more discretion about why and, more importantly, when I update the template. —Sledged 13:43, 25 October 2006 (MDT)
I guess it is OK, as the site is now going faster. The only problem I was having was a slow site, and now the site is running better. The addition will stay. --Green Dragon 15:01, 25 October 2006 (MDT)
The drag right now is comming from the processing of the NPC Stat block, such as what Sledged pointed out. This is caused because the site is running on a 1Ghz Pentium III Processor, which is completely adequate for displaying pages and accessing databases, but it not fantastic for modifying all of the stat blocks that are in existance (as templates) on the site. If larger and more complicated templates appear, or if the stat block problem becomes more serious, then I will move the site again to an AMD Opteron based server (this does not mean edit the stat block as much as is possible!). Sorry for the problems, and I am glad that everything is taken care of now, --Blue Dragon 15:05, 25 October 2006 (MDT)

And now I find this extension. I feel like a kid who finds the latest shiny new toy and has to be the first on the block to have it. —Sledged 21:25, 16 December 2006 (MST)

This has been added! If you find anything else, I will be more than happy to include it! --Blue Dragon 16:58, 18 December 2006 (MST)
Excellent! Thanks. —Sledged 09:28, 19 December 2006 (MST)

Skin Updater

Hey Blue, could you change updateskins.cgi so that it updates from User:Sledged/sledged.css instead of User:Sledged/monobook.css. Otherwise I have to log out just to see the monobook skin and to see the effects of any changes I make to MediaWiki:Monobook.css. —Sledged 12:51, 27 October 2006 (MDT)

Consider it done. --Blue Dragon 21:27, 29 October 2006 (MST)
(Monty Burns impression) Excellent! Thanks. —Sledged 12:16, 30 October 2006 (MST)

XSS with buttonLink

Thanks so much NickJ! I had not even thought about the possibility of an injection attack, and I am very glad that you had brought this to my attention. I am working on a fix right now, and again, thanks! --Blue Dragon 19:46, 2 November 2006 (MST)

The problem should now be fixed. Thanks. --Blue Dragon 19:59, 2 November 2006 (MST)

I would Love a dndwiki email addy.

My Name is Ryan and I am a DnD player/DM. I run a homebrew campaign by the name of Ridgecrest. I would really like it if I could sign up for a dndwiki email addy.

You can email me @ ryanreid@clearchannel.com.

Thanks a lot,

Ryan —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.230.140.240 (talkcontribs) 11:38, 6 November 2006 (MST). Please sign your posts.

Hey Ryan, I would be glad to give you an "@dandwiki" email address, but I need to see some verification that you are a person and not a spammer waiting to get their hands on an email account. I do not want my servers to be put up on every black list that there is. Register a username and make some edits, and then I would be happy to give you an account. Sorry for the problems, --Blue Dragon 10:40, 6 November 2006 (MST)
Or think of some other method of proving your not a spammer, the run it my me or Blue Dragon. Hope you get your email account soon :). --Green Dragon 21:38, 6 November 2006 (MST)
Hi, my name is Drew. On here I'm Banyan. I would also love to have a dandwiki.com address (banyan@dandwiki.com) if that's cool. I'm hoping the fact that I'm logged in and creating the "Age of Titans" campaign setting is evidence enough that I'm real! :-)
My current email is aspencer@u.arizona.edu. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Banyan (talkcontribs) 10:26, 3 December 2006 (MST). Please sign your posts.
Hey Drew, I would be happy to give you an email account. You definitely are a true user on D&D Wiki (looking at your contributions), and so I would be more than happy. I am sending you an email outlining what needs to be done, and how to log in to you account. --Blue Dragon 11:07, 3 December 2006 (MST)
Banyan, I am sorry about not knowing if you were a legitimate user. The reason I did not know is because you did not log in the first time you posted. If you had logged in this problem would never have existed. I hope you understand. Also, I hope you like your new email. --Green Dragon 13:43, 3 December 2006 (MST)

Upload File

I reminded you yesterday and it still has not happened. Once again, please fix the "Upload File" for D&D Wiki (hopefully this way you will remember to fix it). Thanks in advance. --Green Dragon 23:09, 9 November 2006 (MST)

@dndwiki

Hey, Blue, Could you fix me up with a @dndwiki as well? Thanks, -sol

No problem. Let me know what you want it to be called, and what you want its password to be in a separate email. Thanks, --Blue Dragon 21:28, 1 December 2006 (MST)
Thanks, the new @dandwiki.com is great. I strongly urge everyone to start an account. -sol —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.228.185.172 (talkcontribs) 12:51, 4 December 2006. Please sign your posts.
