Vanquishing Staff (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Staff, legendary (requires attunement by a cleric or paladin) Disguise. As a bonus action, you can disguise this item to look like something else of a similar size and shape (a sword, a different staff, an arrow, etc.) and can be used like the item it is disguised as. It cannot use the magical abilities of any magic item it is disguised as. In order to use this staff's other properties, you must use a bonus action to transform it back to it's true form, a yellow-white five-foot staff weighting three pounds with arcs towards the top of the staff. While in it's true form, you can wield it like a quarterstaff that uses your Wisdom modifier instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls.
Vanquishing Light. While holding the staff, you can use an action and expend 1 charge to launch an orb of radiant energy towards one target of your choice within sight. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, it takes a number of d12 radiant damage equal to one-third your cleric and paladin levels, rounded down (minimum of two). If it failed the saving throw by at least 5, it must succeed on a DC 8 Constitution saving throw or be vanquished, the effect described below. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage, rounded down (minimum of one). Any damage dealt to a creature by this effect acts as if immunity was resistance, and ignores resistance. If a creature drops to 0 hit points by this effect, roll a d20. If it is a 20, the creature is vanquished. You may choose to change the result to a 1, if you wish. Vanquish. If a creature is vanquished by this staff, it is reduced into nothing, including any nonmagical equipment it is wearing. In addition, its soul and any other attributes of the creature that may remain after death is also destroyed. A vanquished creature cannot be brought back through any means other than a wish spell.
