Changes to Green Ronin's Psychic Powers System[edit]
I've noticed you've made a lot of changes to the rule information for psychic powers. What's the basis for these changes? Did Green Ronin publish changes to what's in the Psychic's Handbook or the Advanced Player's Manual? —Sledged (talk) 10:34, 11 July 2012 (MDT)
- Sorry i'm new to this and i was going to split this whole change regiment to its own variant and then revert the psychic section in question back to its original state... but i haven't figured out how to do that and keep everything organized the same yet. Any help would be appreciated but if your going to toss all my edits please give me a heads up and some time to copy all my changes down as it was quite a bit of work. Thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Psychic (talk • contribs) 2012-07-11 19:19. Please sign your posts.
- I see. I recommend you start with a naming convention for the changes so you can transcribe them to their own pages. Something like Psychic Powers II (3.5e Variant Rule), Psychic Powers Rev. 2 (3.5e Variant Rule), or Psychic Powers R2 (3.5e Variant Rule). Then you can publish you're revision of the rules in their own pages while leaving the original transcription in place. Note that since the original rules are OGC, your revision will also be so, as per the OGL. So you'll have to keep the license notification at the bottom of the pages.
- How would i go about doing this? are you saying i should put this in the edit description or create a new section for all the edits? I'm not sure how to do either... sorry i'm really new to this kind of content editing. Ideally I was hoping to make a clone of the entire psychic powers variant that I would then call something like "Psychic Powers II (3.5e Variant Rule), Psychic Powers Rev. 2 (3.5e Variant Rule), or Psychic Powers R2 (3.5e Variant Rule)", which i could edit to my liking and leave the original intact but I cant figure out how to do so. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Psychic (talk • contribs) 2012-07-14 14:23. - Creating pages is relatively simple. Copying pages is only slightly more complex. Supposed you decide to give your pages the "R2" suffix. Here's what you do:
- Click the edit link at the top of the Psychic Powers (3.5e Variant Rule) page.
- Copy the entire contents of the edit view to your clipboard.
- Go to the page Psychic Powers R2 (3.5e Variant Rule). Since the page doesn't exist, you'll be taken to the edit view with the opportunity to create it.
- Paste the contents of your clipboard into the text area.
- Click the "Save page" button.
- Repeat all the above steps for all the pages you wish to copy and revise.
- Edit your "R2" pages with your modifications.
- Let me know if you have any more questions. —Sledged (talk) 06:40, 17 July 2012 (MDT)
