Brewer's Tools. Common tool (artisan), 20 gp. Brewer's tools include the items you need to pursue a specific trade. Proficiency with these tools lets you use them to craft or pursue freelance work during downtime. Proficiency also adds your proficiency bonus to any ability checks made for using the tools for their intended purpose, for any check made in the pursuit of the associated trade, and to Intelligence checks made to recall knowledge associated with this trade.
These tools are used to purify water, brew potions, and produce beer or other drinks. Brewer's tools generally include a jug, bottles, vials, a mortar and pestle, a siphon, 5 feet of tubing, and a pouch of various ingredients such as salt and hops.
Proficiency with and access to brewer's tools enables you to create drinks which embody the power of spells you cast, such as creating water of life from the life spell. For this reason these tools are often sought by magicians.
