Template talk:News
From D&D Wiki
Transcluded Line Spacing[edit]
If you look at the News on the main page, for some reason it is breaking up the section. The date reads Mon Day and then it shifts the year field one line down. It does not do this here on the template, and only does it on the main page. If you remove the year field, it still does it it just then moves the line break between the month and the day. Does anyone know why it is doing this? It is creating just a lot of dead space on the main page, and is a slight eye sore. Hooper talk contribs email 02:54, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- What resolution are you running your screen in? There may not be enough space for the full information across your screen. I do not get this problem. --Sabre070 02:57, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- It's because here they have a little more room. Also, where there are more entries, Old News, the columns are more known whereas here each column is less known, so long posts may have the first column display on two lines on some screen sizes. --Green Dragon 14:53, 22 August 2010 (MDT)
RFA[edit]
Shouldn't this auto-update whenever a new RFA shows up? Either way, this needs to go on here: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/D%26D_Wiki:Requests_for_Adminship/GamerAim_(2) Varkarrus (talk) 17:38, 1 October 2018 (MDT)
Old News[edit]
How would people feel about having all the news here regardless of timeframe but still have the template display only the few latest entries on the main page etc, rather than have the old news on a separate page? This would mean one less thing for admins to update when the news changes. — Geodude (talk | contribs | email) . . 10:59, 24 November 2018 (MST)
- This is a great idea. If you know how to make it work, then by all means update the news templates. --Green Dragon (talk) 22:45, 25 November 2018 (MST)
- I think the extra locations is a reason I don't like updating news because you could miss something. One less step would be great. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 06:43, 26 November 2018 (MST)
- When the table entries are automatically added to the old news list, the dates and their order are wrong. Why is it doing this? --Green Dragon (talk) 01:33, 8 December 2018 (MST)
- If you scroll through my recent edits, you should be able to see that I am deleting "repeated" news posts. diff, diff. The current news articles are then being re-added to this page, but with the wrong dates and backwards (the last from the three should be first and not last). We need a work-around for this mis-order. --Green Dragon (talk) 10:30, 8 December 2018 (MST)
- At least it does not appear to be doing this anymore. --Green Dragon (talk) 23:43, 3 January 2019 (MST)
"Piazo"[edit]
I know I'm most-of-a-year late for a mere typo, but it's Paizo. - Guy 17:25, 24 March 2020 (MDT)
- Right, thanks. --Green Dragon (talk) 11:46, 25 March 2020 (MDT)
