Talk:Wyrmhand (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
It's amazing coming back to your old design from two years ago and seeing what people have done to it... Resetting this back to the way it was intended, fixing some issues called out in comments, and hoping that there can be a discussion before people start editing this again. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MakingReady (talk • contribs) . - While I forgot to check this page before editing, I do believe my particular edits are for the better. I have repeated your actions, MakingReady, of restoring the intent of the features to their original form, but also switched around their positions to better match the placement of similar rogue subclass features in the PHB and Xanathar's. They typically go combat benefit+extra proficiency(ies) at 3rd, non-combat at 9th, miscellaneous (combat, non-combat, or a mix) at 13th, and then another purely combat benefit (still ignoring you, Mastermind subclass -_-) at 17th level, and that's the order I put them in.
- The Golden Leather was essentially a +4 magic leather armor without being magical, which is a HUGE no-no, especially considering that +3 magic armor is already considered "legendary", so I reduced the AC benefit to being only +2 in comparison to regular leather (the equivalent of a "very rare" magic item, still extremely powerful). I considered increasing the price to match, but since the armor is in fact nonmagical effects that can damage and destroy nonmagical armor can still destroy it, so for the time being I'm OK with the extremely cheap price (I might not be later on, or someone else may see this break-down and increase it themselves. Who know?! The glory of the internet!) and the crafting time that prevents you from immediately getting it back if destroyed. You also can't simply replace it if stolen rather than destroyed, since the feature explicitly states that it must be destroyed before you can make a new one. (I like this, don't change it! :3)
- Finally, I am going to contest you on your continual reverts of the term "archetype" into "subclass" in the very first feature. The Assassin archetype specifically uses the "archetype" terminology, as do the paladin oaths use "oath" and the druid circles use "circle". That is all. Although, now that I look at your contributions, I'm not sure this message will ever reach you, since your last edit of any page was a year and a half ago. -_- --IntellectMaster (talk) 10:25, 24 March 2021 (MDT)
