What Mechanics Would This Affect, Where Can This Go Wrong, How Can I Make This Work.

- The description "15 feet long" is too vague. The wave needs shape, width, maximum distance, potentially a maximum number of enemies hit (2,3,whatever), and potentially a saving throw for half damage. To make it less like a 'lucky spell' you could shift to using charges that can be expended that guarantee a wave is generated. To make it more risky you could say in lieu of an standard attack action, you can take a 50% chance to make a wave happen (meaning no slashing damage on the swing). I really do not want to do charges.
That is weird, I thought I put that it can go through two enemies.
A saving throw for half damage makes since, for the critical strike chance.
- Want to or not, I think it's well warranted here. Even if it was mechanically sound, I think the way it's handled is just awkward extra rolling, and not even really based on how the Terra Blade works in-game. It's just a short cooldown. Here's a quick rewrite:
- "When you make an attack with a Terra Blade, you may force the two closest creatures within 50 feet infront of you to make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking the damage dealt by the attack on a failure. You can do this twice, regaining both uses at the start of your turn."
- Quick, fairly succinct, don't even need to roll extra damage. I think this'd work a lot better. --SwankyPants (talk) 18:27, 24 April 2023 (MDT)
Yeah That Should Be It
