Talk:Swordsman (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
I attempted to fix the grammar and made things easier to read, I think. I also changed the movement from wuxia from 15 to 10 but I don't know if that is too powerful or not. You gain additional movement if you attack and if you attack twice you're gaining 20 feet of extra movement that doesn't provoke AoO. If you multi class fighter you might be able to get a larger amount of movement and dance circles around enemies. (idk how to do name stuff am new) -Ivory
- As far as I understand, fighter gains no movement speed when using action surge, which is what I assume you refer to. You certainly could dash, but then you lose the chance to do double your average damage. I'd think monk or rogue would be a lot more concerning, with the bonus action dash. The change sounds good, or at least better, as before this essentially just gives you a dash every time you attack, and warrants having it lessened. Also, you sign your post by using the little squiggly thing on the top bar.--SwankyPants (talk) 06:55, 14 December 2020 (MST)
- 1. ty for the help and 2. that isn't what I meant. The Quick Footwork feature under the Wuxia subclass says this, "At 3rd level, you can move an additional 10 feet before each attack you make on your turn when you take the Attack action. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks." I changed the number because I thought it'd be busted. Like I'm not the creator but I edited it because it seemed to strong. Uhhh...for example: A 5 Fighter/3 Swordsman can attack an enemy and gain +10 ft of movement. They then move out of the opponent's threatened space provoking 0 AoO and run up to another enemy. They use their second attack and gain more movement and then they action surge. They can zoom across the battlefield. IDK if this is balanced or not because I'm really bad at that (my brother does it for me) but I wanted to bring it up.--UmbralIvory (talk) 11:51, 14 December 2020 (MST)
