Talk:Raven Wings (5e Feat)

I'm concerned about the power level of this feat. It grants a very high fly speed, the bonus action attack does way too much damage (guaranteed damage, at that, and uses round counting (Class Do's and Don'ts (5e Guideline)). The disadvantage to charisma checks doesn't do enough to balance this out, as someone planning to take this feat probably isn't going to be a very social character anyway, and regardless of that, you don't balance extremely powerful traits by giving them extreme drawbacks, you balance them by not making them extremely powerful in the first place. 5th edition also doesn't really use level prerequisites for feats as far as I'm aware, which the requirement for a certain proficiency bonus essentially amounts to. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 23:46, 21 September 2018 (MDT)

I think this feat can just be cut down to the wings so it doesn't sound quite so much like a curse:

"Ethereal black wings made of magic can be materialized from your back with a bonus action. You gain a fly speed of 30 feet when your wings are materialized.
Once per day you may fully extend your wings making a ranged spell attack roll to send spectral feathers at up to 3 creatures of your choice as long as they are within 60ft of you. The selected creatures must succeed a Dexterity saving throw (DC=8 + your Charisma modifier) or take 1d4 necrotic damage."--Yanied (talk) 09:54, 4 March 2020 (MST)
Is this even a feat? What part of being quick makes you sprout wings from your back? This seems more like a spell or wondrous item to me. -Ref3rence (talk) 10:26, 4 March 2020 (MST)
