Talk:Pixie's Gale (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
I'm 99% that making the summary the first (or most relevant) sentence from the spell's description has precedent, or at least is standard practice. Scroll through the Wizard Spell List or some other page that shows summaries, they basically all follow that format. I agree that it might not be the best or most concise way of doing it, but I really don't think it's out of line to follow the convention. -Bigboymemezone (talk) 17:52, 1 December 2022 (MST)
- That is what the SRD spell pages on this wiki do, yes; but it is not what homebrew does, it is not what any other D&D wiki that hosts the SRD on its pages do, and it is certainly not what the actual books do, since the books have no summary section for anything: Only the basic book directory functions like Table of Contents and Index. The summary section is, to my knowledge, a unique innovation of this wiki and this wiki only, nowhere else: Thus, no precedent. I personally use the summary space as a quick sales pitch for my content: putting my best foot forward to draw people to read what I've written. I'm sure others as well have their own uses for the summary space too.
- Which is why I find it a little... grating to see you change all these summaries to be unimaginative copies of the main body of text when there's no good reason to. Endermage77 (talk) 18:25, 1 December 2022 (MST)
