Mechon======Mechon[edit]

Cost Racial Trait
1 Strength score increases by 1.
2 Constitution score increases by 2.
0.5 Mechanical Body
0.5 Darkvision
-0.5 Faced mechon armor damage
3.5 Total.

"Mechanical body" is basically "Living Construct", but with only half the benefits, so I judged it as 0.5.

When outside your faced mechon armor, it is useless in combat, and is simply a Large target for your enemies to hit, that still causes damage to you. It becomes a liability, but when used, you become much stronger for one combat.

With faced mechon armor[edit]

Cost Racial Trait
1.5 Large
1.5 Physical damage resistance
1 Natural Armor
7.5 Total.

The Mechon's gimmick is that, when outside the faced mechon armor, it is weaker than most other races, however, for the one battle it can fight within the armor per day, it becomes much, much stronger. This plays to 5e's idea of spending resources carefully, since they're the most important thing that allows you to survive long series of encounters. --Nemid (talk) 08:48, 19 February 2019 (MST)

Races should not have innate equipment. In order to deal with that issue but still keep the races concept, making them constructs much like the warforged and integrating them with their armor would be better and deal with several issues current present with the race. —ConcealedLightChatmod.png (talk) 10:08, 19 February 2019 (MST)
The race doesn't have innate equipment. The faced mechon armor is a part of their being, not a separate item, so much so that they share hit points. They are much like the warforged already, a mix of organic and inorganic material, being both living humanoids and constructs, with the difference being that the warforged were build to begin with and the mechon were originally humans turned into constructs. Could you be more specific with what you mean by "integrating them with their armor"? I can interpret that in several different ways, such as giving them the natural armor while outside the faced mechon armor, mixing their regular versions with the faced mechon armor, making them be in the armor at all times, or making some kind of gimmick like the warforged's. Thank you for your response and feedback. --Nemid (talk) 10:35, 19 February 2019 (MST)

Since the last time this race was analysed, it received a fairly large overhaul. As such many of the previous points are not relevant anymore, but I'll still leave the, here for documentation's sake. I did my best to bring the race to playability, taking inspiration from the Aasimar features.Nemid (talk) 11:34, 11 January 2021 (MST)

As is, the race looks fine. If it is actual armor in the FMA, it needs an AC(I assume it isn't and should use a different description of the feature to avoid confusion), and maybe extra damage equal to your level(aasimar only gets half, goblin gets level to damage once a long rest) is a bit much. Otherwise, looks like you did a good job. --SwankyPants (talk) 11:41, 11 January 2021 (MST)
