Why can't the adamantine golem just be made from adamantine? Why do you have to wish iron into adamantine? SirSprinkles (talk) 15:18, 5 November 2016 (MDT)

  • I only adapted it from 3.5 to 5e. There is no reason that it can't be made from adamantine but, depending on the setting, adamantine might not be common enough to collect 45,000 pounds of it to sculpt it. In addition to that, the wish spell is intended to "give life" to the metal as well as having it become adamantine. Roteton Kin (talk) 21:40, 5 Nov 2016 (CST)
But the application of the ashes of an appropriate manual of golems is what animates the golem, not a wish spell. SirSprinkles (talk) 01:52, 6 November 2016 (MDT)
Using the wish spell was only intended to give a throwback to 3.5 but there is no reason that the requirement can't be removed in favor of using a 5e practice to animate the golem. Roteton Kin (talk) 10:05, 6 Nov 2016 (CST)

Hey, I really love this! If you'd like, I could illustrate this golem for the page. Dinomaster337 (talk) 14 January 2018 (MDT)

My two cents: Adamantine is very expensive. It might make sense to make this a 'small' creature rather than a 'large' creature, to save on materials. Arquebus (talk) 05:47, 23 March 2022 (MDT)
