I need help! How do I make it show the text and stuff? Don't change the text, (Unless you need too or to fix an error) but help me make it show up. Also how do I make the picture actually show up?Alphaomegalogs

The feature for the alternate choice having mechanics isn't extremely egregious when narrowed and niche, like the sailor or fisher background in official books. But the fluff of the background is sorely lacking and is an unfortunate issue among other backgrounds as well.--Yanied (talk) 22:21, 20 January 2022 (MST)

I've decided to completely change this from Ornithologist to entomologist (sticking with zoology) because of the existence of the Falconer background and Ornithologist class, as well as the fact that I have a much greater knowledge of entomology. Alphaomegalogs

It's done. Constructive criticism is appreciated and I still need help making the picture appear. I got the reference link to work just not the actual pic. Alphaomegalogs

ALso I just realized the large title still says ornithologist. Its there any way to change this or will I have to move the text to a new background and delete this one? Alphaomegalogs Edit: I found the move button. Also I think I screwed up really hard. Alphaomegalogs

On criticisms:

• The tool profs are a bit vague. Are these items you actually need proficiency with? And what does proficiency with them do? This would usually be found on the page of a kit. IF there is a page, be sure to link those, like this.
• Equipment might need a bit more for entomologists. Maybe they have a bug book or something. And what clothes do they get?
• The feature needs a bit more tightening maybe. I think you need to catch these beasts first right?
• The alternate feature is more 4e than 5e. 5e would probably give advantage instead.--Yanied (talk) 15:50, 21 January 2022 (MST)

I understand how it's a bit weird that you could train them to attack, because backgrounds are not classes. However, it is extremly difficult to come up with something roleplay heavy that is cool but not too OP. Attacking bugs was my best attempt at this, and people would be complaining about not having starts on the damage if it wasn't there. So there is really nothing I can do about it. I tried to think of a way to make it better, but having saving throws and a DC was the only way I could make it balanced. I removed the review template because I don't want to remove the feature and without a better way to fix it I wil just leave it the way it was.
