Talk:Darknut (5e Creature)

From D&D Wiki

So. Let's be clear. Litsabber created this page on 7 May. Not an hour later I tweaked it a little bit after that; just standard standardization stuff and balance adjustments. A few hours later SirSprinkles added the Template:Hyrule bit at the bottom; this effectively added it to Hyrule (5e Campaign Setting) and its Bestiary (Hyrule Supplement), which I was and still am working on.

This page is fine as it is, I think, and has every right to exist as it is. However, both in May and right now I have a very different idea of how darknuts should be represented in this particular campaign setting. Among other tweaks would be several creatures all based on different kinds of darknut, and more ties into the darknut archetype. My question is: should I essentially overhaul this page—which is otherwise fine on its own merit as something separate from this campaign setting—or create something like "Darknut, Hyrulean variant (5e Creature)" and "Mighty Darknut, Hyrulean variant (5e Creature)" and so on? - Guy (talk) 10:20, 13 November 2017 (MST)

On Deflect Missiles.[edit]

I do always enjoy when people clean up what I write down. I have been enjoying the wiki's content and enjoy contributing, but while it may have seemed like an error, I was wondering if I could stress that I would like deflect missiles to deflect not only ranged weapon attacks, but also ranged attacks that are not from weapons (such as spells). The idea is to make the Darknunt encourage melee duels with players. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NeonRevelation (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

I changed it to weapon attacks because spells are often bolts or beams of energy, instead of physical projectiles that could be deflected. SirSprinkles (talk) 16:21, 3 March 2024 (MST)
Certainly understandable, but to me, Zelda has enough precedent for deflecting such beams and bolts with mundane weapons and shields. The idea here is to give the Darknut some anti-ranged techniques to draw players into melee confrontation where it excels and leads to the iconic fights Darknuts are known for.
