Size[edit]

Her size and abilities would depend on her age. Is she older or younger than 11? The only D20 rules for children I could find was this;

Children (newborns to age 11) are handled differently from other characters. They do not have classes or levels. They begin with the same ability score package as ordinaries (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8), but their ability scores are reduced as follows: –3 Str, –1 Dex, –3 Con, –1 Int, –1 Wis, –1 Cha.

Children have 1d4 hit points plus their Constitution modifier (minimum 1 hit point). They have no skills, feats, action points, or occupations. Their base attack bonus is +0, they have a +0 modifier on all saving throws (plus any modifiers for high or low ability scores), and their Reputation bonus is +0. Children have a +0 modifier to Defense and a normal speed of 20 feet. Children have no effective attacks and should be treated as noncombatants.

When a child turns 12, he or she is considered a young adult and takes his or her first level in one of the six basic classes. At that point, the character becomes an ordinary (or hero, in some cases).

Modern SRD: Ordinaries- Children

So, it all depends on her age. --Sam Kay 05:24, 1 December 2007 (MST)

Well thats a bummer, acording to the rules she cant happen. She is 12, but her sisters are younger. Im ok using her in my story, but according to the rules she is impossible. I always imagined her to be a baby epic charecter. That she was the child of some one importaint, some one super. --Mander 03:18, 3 December 2007 (MST)
Just remember this- the DM isn't a tool for the rules. Rules are a tool for the DM. If you want to do something as DM that, according to the rules, isn't strictly allowed, just do it anyway! MorkaisChosen 05:01, 3 December 2007 (MST)
Give her no ability minuses, but a size of small (and increase it to medium when she becomes 15). --Sam Kay 09:48, 3 December 2007 (MST)
Optionally, with the Small size, you could ignore the d20M SRD's rules for physical ability score adjusts and use the d20 SRD's rules for size increase in reverse: Str −4, Dex +2, Con −2. Or figure out your own adjustments. Whatever, you decide, I'd recommending making a small footnote about it under the stat block. —Sledged (talk) 10:23, 3 December 2007 (MST)
I chose her ability scores to represent who i thought she would be. Note the Str being 8. I guess, rather then using modifiers, I just gave her the stats that I thought she would have. It works great for my storie, but... ya know. Thanks for all the input.--Mander 19:59, 3 December 2007 (MST)

Filling Out the Stat Block[edit]

First, for reference, here are the instructions for using the stat block. It lists all parameters used and gives an example for each one.

When you need to add a parameter, like Strength for example, you just add |str=10 anywhere inside the double curlies (between {{Stat Block 2 and }}), like so:

{{Stat Block 2
|name=Charity
|al=Chaotic Good |size=Medium |type=Humanoid Human
|init=+2 |listen=+3 |spot=+3
|ac=14 |touch=12 |flat=12
|hp=13 |hd=3
|fort=+1 |ref=+5 |will=+1
|spd=30feet
|bab=2 |grp=2
|str=10
}}

Getting Closer[edit]

Alright, still working on figuring this out. Charity is starting to look a bit better. Wiki is not as easy as it sounds. I still don't have a clue what I am doing. I copied another character, and then simply replaced all the information with Charity's information. i am still learning the wiki programing language. Starting to figure it out.

Something went wrong after "intimidation" and the rest of her skills didn't show up. What did I do wrong?--Mander 02:30, 4 December 2007 (MST)

It was missing the starting [[, so when it got to the next |, the wiki thought it was the start of another parameter instead of the rest of the link. She's getting fleshed out nicely. What's next? —Sledged (talk) 03:40, 4 December 2007 (MST)
I'm not sure, what do you want? I added a link to Crow Castle, their home. I will add her sister Grace soon. Is there anything important that I might have missed?--Mander 01:19, 5 December 2007 (MST)
Class features, size modifiers to grapple, attack, AC, and skills, appropriately-sized weapons for her, possessions, and she's missing four bonus languages due to Int. I got all of them except the last one. Didn't know what languages you wanted to give her. —Sledged (talk) 13:53, 5 December 2007 (MST)
In my campaign she only speaks Common. This is because she lives in a human only city and is just a kid. Also, the speech that she has is some what hard to understand do to all the slang. I ruled that she only has one language, can't read, and talks with havy slang. This is not do to her intelligence, but rather her situation and lack of education. "Me sistus calls m' Cha'ity, bu' I finks day's ma'in' fun o' me."
I really like the changes you made. i really appreciate all the help. I hope others get to use Charity in their campaigns. Next up, I will make Grace. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mander (talkcontribs) 14:05, 5 December 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
Alright, cant see anything more to add or change. Just made a few minor edits. Thanks again for all your help. --Mander 15:32, 6 December 2007 (MST)
Glad I could help. —Sledged (talk) 16:33, 6 December 2007 (MST)
Actually, could we change her size back to medium? I would like to ask you to please do it Sledged since you changed it to small the first time. I don’t want to overlook something and fail to change it. The reason for this switch is because I am increasing her age to 15. I need to do this because her sister Grace needs an age increase. I originally had Grace at age 10 and that is way to young for these new rules. Their ages will stay the same in my campaign, but as far as this contribution to dandwiki goes I would like to stick fairly close to the rules.--Mander 11:16, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Well, the d20 rules don't cover everything (like pre-adolescent characters), so you can get away with ad-hoc rules to compensate for the absence. So if (rules aside) you'd rather keep her at a younger age, it can be justified by using a house-rule. —Sledged (talk) 22:58, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Alright, I will keep it this way. But her sister Grace is going to be even more of a stretch. 2 levels of expert at age 10. See what I mean?--Mander 14:15, 9 December 2007 (MST)
