not to nitpic, but inferno bolters dont deal fire damage, it says in the codex "attacking the targets soul as much as they're physical form." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mee3eep (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- And what 5e damage type would you say represents soul damage specifically? So far as I am aware, there is no such mechanic. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 13:13, 14 March 2023 (MDT)
- I imagine necrotic or psychic would work just fine. --SwankyPants (talk) 13:16, 14 March 2023 (MDT)
- Necrotic is usually meant to signify some form of disruption of the body's integrity directly, such as via Disintegrate or Inflict Wounds, whereas psychic is specifically an attack on the target's mind or consciousness. Aside from that, there's the strangeness inherent in a so-called inferno bolter not dealing fire damage.
My opinion on the subject is that it would be best represented by stating that the fire damage from these bolters bypassed resistance, if indeed any change were to be made at all, as the lore snippet in question is far more fluff than fact. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 18:59, 14 March 2023 (MDT)
