Id like a section for things like this- new item types- in DnD Equipment. Can we have such a section, please? --Sam Kay 14:53, 16 November 2007 (MST)

Do minor artifacts or magical rings not work? --Green Dragon 23:24, 17 November 2007 (MST)
No, because this is a new type of magic item, rather than a ring. --Sam Kay 04:00, 18 November 2007 (MST)
Why not have a section entitles "Magic Item Types", then each magic item type can lead to a list of items of that type? --Sam Kay 09:35, 18 November 2007 (MST)
Or what do you think about the idea of making a thing on DnD Equipment that is treated like Templates are to creatures? --Green Dragon 13:56, 18 November 2007 (MST)
I don't understand what you mean... Can you explain, please? --Sam Kay 05:29, 19 November 2007 (MST)
Sure. Templates act as a template for adventurers to obtain. They can be added to any character, and pretty much are a rule set for adding something to an adventurer. For example the Vampire template can be applied to anyone—it's just a rule set for making someone a vampire. So, what I am proposing is we make something like that for equipment. Since this ring actually has no information with it (all the playing material is on other pages that use this ring as a template) it can just become something like a template, but for equipment. This can go to a page that has magical item templates. What do you think of this idea? --Green Dragon 23:14, 19 November 2007 (MST)
Oh, I see what you mean now- I was confused because I did not see how an equiptment item could bve a template. Yeah, I agree, I think that would work. --Sam Kay 06:50, 20 November 2007 (MST)
Done. --Green Dragon 14:30, 23 November 2007 (MST)
What should the identifier be? How about (DnD Item Template)? --Sam Kay 06:50, 28 November 2007 (MST)
Oh, I see. It is under DnD Template Items, so it should go under that... Am I correct? --Sam Kay 06:52, 28 November 2007 (MST)
The default category for magic items is Category:Wondrous Item. If it's neither an artifact, a staff, a rod, a wand, armor, a weapon, a ring, a potion or oil, nor a scroll, it's a wondrous item. Right now, all equipment (mundane, magic, or psionic) has the identifier "(DnD Equipment)". Also, if it's not a magic ring (as defined in the SRD), I'd avoid calling it a ring to cut down on confusion, and/or even have it on a different body slot (if it uses a body slot at all). Maybe "circlet," "braclet," or "torc." —Sledged (talk) 13:17, 28 November 2007 (MST)
Currently all the equipment items on D&D Wiki have a very generic identifier—DnD Equipment. Since this is also an equipment item it should have that identifier. I just changed it, hope you don't mind :). --Green Dragon 11:47, 2 December 2007 (MST)

Question[edit]

What benefits do this/these rings provide? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.179.96.115 (talkcontribs) 20:42, 18 May 2009 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
