Page Names[edit]

There is no need to add "User" to these pages - it is implied. E.g. 4e Greater Deities. Also, the dpl's on the pages remove the "(DnD Deity)" identifier and not "(4e Deity)". --Green Dragon 11:08, 7 March 2009 (MST)

Divine Ranks[edit]

I'm not sure listing 4e deities by their divine rank is the most appropriate way to sort them, as deities don't really have ranks in 4e. Perhaps some other defining feature, like alignment, would work better within the confines of 4e? This would probably entail coming up with a separate template for 4e deities. --Dracomortis 20:19, 12 March 2009 (MDT)

I created a template for 4e Deities, it is right here. --Axl 20:06, 5 September 2011 (MDT)
The most recent organization (to be implemented here with template modifications) are xarch, god, greater god, primordial, and overdeity. Do you not feel these are appropriate? --Green Dragon 20:24, 9 September 2011 (MDT)
This is what is required for a 4e deity:
  • Name
  • Alignment
  • Description (Describing her temples, worshippers, doesn't have to be more than one paragraph)
  • A list of commandments or tenets (PHB gives 3 for each deity)
  • A channel divinity power
  • A warpriest domain (a list of powers and class features to be used with the Warpriest from Heroes of the Fallen Lands.), or at least a indication as to which of the existing domains to use (currently Sun, Storm, Death, Earth, Corellon, Oghma, Selune and Torm)
  • Optionally, a symbol.
Type/Rank, dominion, worshippers and sphere of influence are all unneeded as fields. All of our 4e deity pages will need to be reformatted if you want them in accordance with 4e - and as far as I can tell, none have an associated Channel Divinity power. "Describing her temples" is their dominion, worshipers are worshipers, etc. I did those fields to be the deities description. We could attempt to improve those fields, but I did it like that to help people write the deities. What are you proposing? --Green Dragon (talk) 18:27, 27 December 2012 (MST)
Just sayin' that in the official books, this is all done in one text block, and done so in prose. As a field, I think people are confused as to if to use them to just print a list (like at Rosada (4e Deity)) or full prose (Nalfien (4e Deity)), or sometimes what the fields mean. I think a "spheres" field would be useful for indexing purposes, and then some comments in the preload to guide the writer. I'll describe my proposed changes at Template talk:4e Deity. Make sure the comments are very informative, but I agree that this should be fine. We just don't want people to forget parts of their deity while they are writing it. --Green Dragon (talk) 18:37, 29 December 2012 (MST)
