Calling forth from the air around you, your weapons wreaths itself in lightning as you strike. You brandish the weapon used in the spell's casting and make a melee attack with it against one creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the target suffers the weapon attack’s normal effects and lightning shoots out in all directions from them. Choose up to 3 creatures within 10 feet of the original target. Each of those creatures must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or take lightning damage equal to your spellcasting ability modifier.
The spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (1d8 + your spellcasting modifier), 11th level (2d8 + your spellcasting modifier), and 17th level (3d8 + your spellcasting modifier).
