Storm Bringer (5e Equipment)
Weapon (broadsword), legendary (requires attunement) Storm Bringer is a broadsword crafted from black iron with small bolts of blue lightning occasionally skittering around the blade. Once wielded by a ruler who claimed to have been chosen ruler by a god of the storm. Legends say this weapon was granted to this leader by their deity, while others theorize that it was forged and enchanted as a symbol of the leader's mishappen belief in their own outrageous claim to leadership. This magical broadsword gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. Additionally, this weapon can act as a holy symbol for any cleric from the Tempest Divine Domain. Attacks made with this weapon deal an additional 2d6 lightning damage. Fast as Lightning. At will, your form becomes that of a medium-sized clump of electrical energy. For an hour, you can travel 300 ft. per round and are immune to any damage. However, while in this form, you cannot speak and can only take the Dash action. By spending 1 minute of undisturbed time focusing on your form, you can revert back to your humanoid form. You can switch freely between these two forms for this duration of the feature. After 1 hour has passed, you must take a long rest before using this effect again. Thunderous Attack. By swinging your sword in a heavy slash as an action, you send out a magical force imbued with the strength of a hurricane. All targets within a 30 ft. cone of this attack must make a DC 19 Strength saving throw, taking 4d8 force damage and being pushed away from you by 10 ft. on a failed save, or taking half as much damage and remaining where they are on a successful save. Once this feature has been used two times, you must wait until the next dawn before using it again. One with the Storm. While traveling through a storm, or even while in a storm, you gain advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) and Charisma (Intimidation) checks. Thunder cracks and lightning strikes boost the effectiveness of your speeches or your threats, but can just as easily provide a quiet moment for you at your command. |
