Broadsword 20 gp 2d4 slashing 3 lb.

Directly descended from the arming sword, and a contemporary of the lighter dueling swords, this basket-hilted sword was a military weapon typically carried by officers. These one-handed blades played a major role in the evolution of fencing as an art or sport, rather than the simple combat exercise common in the days of the arming sword. As their name implies, broadswords have a wide blade better suited to cutting and slashing than thrusting. The added weight of the basket-hilt close to the user's hand provides better control of the sword's tip, allowing it to be more agile and precise than similar blades.

Weapon Mastery: Graze. If you are using weapon masteries, the broadsword has the Graze weapon mastery.
