Staff of the Moonmaiden

Staff (quarterstaff), very rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster worshipping a moon related deity)

This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. While holding it, you have a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls.

The staff has 12 charges for the following properties. It regains 1d8 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff explodes, casting a 5th Level Moonbeam centered on it and breaking.

Spells. You can use an action to expend 1 or more of the staff's charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC:

Faerie Fire (1 charge), Moonbeam (2 charges), Tidal Wave (3 charges), Sickening Radiance (4 charges), Wall of Light (5 charges),

Lunar Crystals (optional rule)

This staff can have 4 lunar crystals attached to it. For each crystal added or removed the staff gains or loses power.

Each of these crystals is unique, and as they are socketed in the staff they get rarer and more expensive:

# of Lunar Crystals Rarity Charges Spells Cost Extras
0 uncommon 4 charges Faerie Fire (1 charge) 500 G.P. +0 bonus to attack and damage rolls and +0 bonus to spell attack rolls (total).
1 rare +2 charges (6 total) + Moonbeam (2 charges) +1500 G.P. +0 bonus to attack and damage rolls and +0 bonus to spell attack rolls (total).
2 rare +2 charges (8 total) + Tidal Wave (3 charges) +3000 G.P. +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls and +1 bonus to spell attack rolls (total).
3 very rare +2 charges (10 total) + Sickening Radiance (4 Charges) +15000 G.P. +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls and +1 bonus to spell attack rolls (total).
4 very rare +2 charges (12 total) + Wall of Light (5 charges) +30000 G.P. +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls and +2 bonus to spell attack rolls (total).

Prices of the shards are stacked.

Pure SRD alternative: In case you need a pure SRD alternative to the Xanatar spells suggested here, you can change Tidal Wave for Daylight, Sickening Radiance for Control Water and Wall of Light for Dream.
