Staff, very rare (major) (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This golden staff was forged in order to aid wizards during wartime.

Charges. This staff has 10 charges, and regains 1d10 expended charges daily at dawn.

Defense. As an action, you can expend charges to magically increase a creature's AC by 1 for every 2 charges spent. The creature's AC returns to normal at the start of your next turn. The creature must be within 30 feet of you and be within your line of sight.

Shield. As a reaction to being targeted by an attack, you can spend 5 charges to have the attack miss or pass the saving throw and take no damage.

Offense. As part of casting a spell, you can expend charges to increase the amount of damage dealt by the spell by 4 for every charge spent.
