You touch a creature, pulling at its very soul and displacing it just enough to temporarily disable the creature. It must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for the duration. The creature must also make a Wisdom saving throw or be stunned for the duration. The creature can remake the Constitution save at the start of each of its turns, ending the paralyzed condition on a success. The creature can remake the Wisdom save at the end of each of its turns, ending the stunned condition on a success. A creature stunned in this way is unaware of its surroundings.
This spell has no effect on constructs and creatures that don't have a soul.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th or higher, the spell's maximum range increases by 10 feet for every level above 5th. At 9th level, its duration increases to 10 minutes.
